If you remove upper roller of KMG platen attachment and also round upper edge of piroceram platen you can flat grind blades lenghtwise.
It's great for removing bumps from regular (crosswise ) grinding lines.
It'll be better if you run your grinder in reverse while doing this. Otherwise it tends to grab blade.
There is also an easier way to do it.
Instead of removing upper roller you can just position upper edge of the platen all the way upfront.
The big minus for doing it this way is that your fingers might touch running belt while grinding.
