It's all downhill from here.

This is the one where she's actually figured out that she can climb up the side of a tree just like she climbs up the side of my leg:

And this is the one where she's about to revert to a feral state, a wild jungle beast utterly unfit for domestic cat duty:

Yeah, I love Poe. I dunno, it was sorta strange. I was sitting there with my wife playing with the kitten when we first brought her home, and we were tossing around some names, and as soon as I said Lenore, it just stuck.

hehe nice, just wait till she starts bringing rabbits home and attacking you by jumping from the shed :)

Our neighbors had a cat that brought a decapitated chipmunk to the kitchen door every morning.

my childhood siamese was much more generous, one day he had three dead mice & a (live but dying) baby rabbit lined up on the back porch for our culinary pleasure, he was generous to the human members of his pride and liked for us to eat as well as he did. he was very proud of himself and we never told him what we did with his contributions to the family larder and were careful not to let him see us chuck them in the trash..

Watch out. If she tries climbing your pant leg now she may debark the wrong thing.

Cats are great. If you look at their hind legs when they climb they can almost oppose them like a squirrel or bear.

"and the Raven spoke neverlenore?"

I couldn,t resist. What work does "Lenore" come from?

Kevin, most famously "The Raven" I believe:

"Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore -
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Nameless here for evermore."

Uh oh. How are you at climbing?

About the cat delivering the decapitated chipmunk every day, our old dog (may he rest in peace) did the same. I heard that its a dog/cat's way of acknowledging you as the leader of the pack, and its how he shows respect. Kind of like how a gangster kisses the Don's ring.

My cat disappeared from our home on Monday. It's the first time she's been lost so long and we think she may have been attacked or something outside. I'm going back tonight.

Sigh. That truly sucks. Cats are much happier when they can go outside, but they are very vulnerable when they do so. Dogs, cars, cat-hating humans, even owls and hawks can all do them harm.

My wife and I have spent more than a couple evenings outside with flashlights searching for beloved furballs....
