Tonight and tomorrow night. Best vewing between 1200 abd 0500. Pick up som good scotch and enjoy. Reason I mention this is that usually whenever anything like this has happened in the long past, the skies have been very cloudy. Finally nice weather here in eastern US. enjoy:)

ps. don't start with the scotch too early or you'll probably miss it :D

I bet the first 8 hours will be the toughest viewing. :D That pesky nearby star will wash out most, if not all of the Leonids.
Of course, here in MN we'll have a L sitting right overhead, as usual. :thumbdn:

KXBaconA - I think you might have started just a wee bit early. :p

One of the last things I remember Kimberly and me doing in 2002 before the hit and run was lying on our backs in the front yard watching the Leonid shower. She was the only member of my family interested in doing that sort of thing with me.

going to be thunderstorms here again or we would do it again tomorrow night.

Showers?

Yeah, we've got showers alright. Only these ones are not of the celestial kind.. :barf:

Assuming that was an honest question and not a joke: They are called the Leonids because they appear to come from the direction of the constellation "Leo". Similarly, the Perseids come from Perseus, etc.
