Hi,

I've recently seen some ads for custom folders by Les Adams and am wondering if any of you out there have any info on him; any first hand experience with his knives; overall impressions; etc.

I've only seen ad pics (e.g. in the Oct. issue of Blade), but they at least appear to be no-nonsense and functional in design (bead blasted; no polish; ti handles; ATS-34 blade).... I am interested in one, but would like to know more before deciding to plunk down the cash!

Thanks!

I have one of those knives on order from Les, with some modifications. He has changed it a bit since the ad and looks even nicer. Les is a very nice person to deal with. Also, his price is very reasonable.

Hi Don,

Thank you for your response...
I will be sending Les a letter soon (does he have an e-mail?) asking for a brochure.

You mentioned a modification on yours, so I suppose that he is responsive to specific customer requests? I plan to ask him about putting a bevel on the handle edges (which look a bit unergonomic in the photo ads).

Best wishes.
Ken

Crada - Les is VERY responsive. He is not a full time maker and he does not have a backlog. I suggest you call him on the phone in the earlier evening hours, eastern standard time. I've enjoyed dealing with him. He is a very nice person. He was very good about the modifications I requested and he didn't charge much for them.

Any updates? How does one contact Mr. Adams? I am very interested in one of his knives.
