I saw a 1911, not a Glock :D :D

I'll agree a Glock is a fine pistol, I have several of them, but..... It will never reach 1911 status, A 1911 is a time honored and proven design... The US Military have finally realized the 9mm was a mistake and even they are going back to a 1911 as a issue sidearm. I know of no Military that uses a Glock in any form. :D :D

What could be a better combo than this?

I know how it could be better, integral light rail! :D:D:D:D

I have owned several Glocks and traded them all away, good gun, just doesn't fit my like my LBC TRS.

What's better?

My Ed Brown Kobra Carry and the Busse Folder......

Until then, it's the Kobra Carry and a Mayo :D

A stainless Baer to more closely match the AD. And a leather jackass shoulder rig for the 1911, 2 spare mags and the AD inverted on the right side hanging below the mag pouch. And a Busse credit account with 1.9% APR and a $20,000 limit. But please, no light rail on mine.

What's with all these Johnny come lately's? Hasn't anyone heard of King's Gunworks? The guys that have been is business since 1940 something? The ones that came up with most of the innovations you see in 1911's these days? Ummm ... not light rails. LOL

Take your fav Colt, Series 70 or earlier please along with a $1000 bill or so and let Kings do their 1 at the time, by hand magic to your carry piece.

That's about what it cost for my Officers ACP. Still looks pretty stock on the outside unless you know what you're looking at, still has the factory sights for instance. But what they do on the inside! Frame was milled for a lower grip, 30 LPI on the frontstrap, fitted beavertail with that bump (like on the Les Baer, a Kings innovation BTW), extended safety (not ambi) and no extended slide release. Didn't work well with my grip. S&A mag guide along with another nifty item from Kings that lets me use 7 rnd mags (Wolff's. Wilsons couldn't keep up with the action, too soft springs), instead of the POS 6 Rnd'ers that are standard.

Most of the work was inside, besides fitting and polishing for reliability the 2 spring Colt setup and bushing was replaced and fitted with a Kings design. I got the pistol in a trade (It's bright stainless BTW, to match the satin AD), but wouldn't carry it till this work was done. It was iffy IMO as was by Colt. I carried (and still do) an old ugly green SA1911A1 that had a reliabiliy workover by Kings. After many K of ammo downrange, both still work flawlessly. 1911A1 is about 19 years old, Officers ACP about 12 or so.

Check em out.

why would you keep the factory sights?!

Because that's the way God and John Moses browning wanted it! Actually, although I like the sight picture from Novak's stuff, there is something awfully appealing about the simple post and blade. Check out these guys for a modern take on the old original: http://www.yost-bonitz.com/products/retrosight/

has a decision been made on that? all i've heard is that they might consider switching off the beretta and 9mm, but nothing was certain.

That's what I heard from the guys at Arnold Air Force Base. They were very happy about the change... but with all things Gov you never know till it's done.

rbmcmjr-- Yost does make some very cool 1911's :D The #1 package is my fav. :D
