Finally got my hands on one. It felt like Christmas this morning. Loving the blade, the build quality is outstanding!

The exposure seems a little screwy today, sorry. Overly giddy unboxing video to come.

Is that a small or large Sebenza???? looks nice! and if that is a large sebbi then is HUGE!!!!!!
Congrats

Saw the vid..congrats! Hopefully mine wil be in the next batch or two coming up. Initially when I placed my order he said it was only a 90 day wait and now it's almost going on 4 months

Dont feel too bad he told me a month back in July. It irks me pretty bad that he had (From what I heard from 2 close friends at the show) 30-40 knifes mostly VECP at a knife show back in October and chose to sell to people who were not on his list rather than fill his orders.

I like the knife enough that I've just given up and figure itll be ready whenever my name comes up.

From what I hear they'll be making their way out this month. He said dealers like Monkey Edge will be getting them. I figured that he should be filling in orders then as well since he said the entire batch was spoken for.

I'm definitely getting one of these. What do you guys think is a better idea, trying to get on the list(if still open) or just try to get one from a dealer when he stocks them this month?

He's currently not taking any more orders in it..and pretty sure there are a ton of people on monkeyedge's email list...keep your fingers crossed I guess

Why is the thumbstud so far back in the scallop of the scale?
It looks like it's in the wrong place. Studs are usually somwhere close to the center of the scallop.
It"s a custom knife, so there must be a reason. What is it?

I'm not sure tbh, but it doesn't seem to impact much. Still very easy to deploy even with gloves.

There's one on the exchange already.

Yeah for a $145 mark up :jerkit:. I hope these knives dont end up like hinderers going for way more money in the secondary market and I have a secure spot on his list...

Wow I've seen these go on the secondary market from $300-$350. Not more than that. Then again I didn't get mine of BF exchange but another forum.

I picked up mine, which was advertised as Almost New (owner carried it a couple times and polished the edge making it very sharp ) for $350. I couldn't see any real wear on the blasting. In the day that I've had it, some is definitely showing like the sebenza. Safe to say it was not really used at all.

EDIT: There is a quick turnaround on these. I grabbed mine within 4 minutes of it going up. They usually last a day or so max

First of all, thank you all for your support with this project!

This project has been a real eye opener for me. I spent 6 months planning this before anyone ever knew about it. I had a great plan on how I was going to wrap this project up in 90 days, nice neat schedule.... Unfortunately, it turns out that my plan was not based in reality and the time line was a freakin pipe dream! I did not think it would take this long to make them and I did not anticipate the huge response that they have received, thus far.

I did take some knives to the California Custom Knife Show in October, Some of the knives where delivery to people on the list, but most of them where available for sale. About a dozen of them. I totally understand that it's frustrating to see a maker take knives to shows when you are waiting for one. I have to spread my business across as wide a base as possible and that means doing shows, doing shows means taking knives. There is no way to make everyone happy, so I just try to work as hard as possible and get stuff done.

Bottom line- I'm a moron, but I am working on it! :) 2012 will bring a lot more VECPs out into the world!

Thank you all for your patience, you guys are the best!

You are doing a fantastic job sir..and I completely understand. Thank you for sending mine out on Monday.

..Will be placing an order for a custom pretty soon also

Pretty damn excited that mine will be here tomorrow. Les, if you're out there seeing this, it's tough getting a hand on one of your knives so I do really appreciate you making this Mid Tech for your fans no matter what the wait time is.
