For those of you interested in the collaboration between Les Stroud and Helle, Les just posted the following on Facebook...

Dont forget also that Helle unveils our new knife designed by me - at the Jan18th to 21st - new products section of the SHOT show in Vegas. The knife is getting attention on blogs from all around the world! Les

Was thinking about ordering the Helle Viking, but am going to hold off and see what this one looks like. Thanks for the update.

Good idea.

I didn't even know about this, but I'm interested now.

Les Stroud is practically a scientist -- at least, he employs methods very similar to those I use. I have to assume his knife design will be worthy.

I'm doing the same thing... Fighting off the urge to buy until Les' design is released.
 
Hey guys. The Helle Viking is a great knife. My wife bought me one for Christmas. I recommend it!

I just hope it isn't ANYTHING like "bear gryll's survival knife." :barf:

I have have faith in helle, and Les. Can't wait to see this knife.
 
I was quite surprised, yet delighted that it was actually Helle who Les collaborated with. Surely could be something down to earth and functional. Will be interesting to see what it looks like!
 
It will be interesting to see how this sells. Helle is not like Gerber where you can go down to the local sporting goods store and find racks and racks of Gerber knives.

His target market will definitely be smaller( people like us), which I think will bode well for being a pretty good knife.
