Les Stroud in new Backwoodsman

Agree...very good article. I've been a "Backwoodsman" subscriber for years, and have always valued each and every copy. Great source fo useful information, I highly recommend it to anyone interested in the Great Outdoors.

Can't wait to check it out. Gotta remember when I see it at Walmart, that I have a subscription to it, and the new issue will eventually arrive.

Apparently the new printer actually knows how to print, assemble and mail magazines so the folks at Backwoodsman expect subscriber service to improve. A newspaper used to do the printing when they didn't have anything else to do:(

Thanks for the preview info. I will have to check it out. I looked last week but the Jan/Feb issue was still on display. It is a very informative as well as just "different" publication.

I look forward to every issue.

Thats really good news, to hear that the Magazine will be of a higher quality. The info has always been the best, and somewhere I have a BOX of old ones...
I might have to subscribe again.

I subscribed and this is my first issue ever (how did I miss it all those years?). Anyways, very well done and a good bit of knowledge. I have Ron Hood's magazines, but they'll be on a hiatus for a while as he’ll be busy kicking cancer in the butt.
I look forward to new issues of the Backwoodsman…like I said very good info.

It really is a great magazine. I always learn something from it each issue.
I like the older reprinted articles from the 30's, 40's, etc.
I would encourage all to subscribe.

My name is Angus McGunnigl and I approve of this message.
That is all.

I see back issues of all kinds of magazines for sale at gun and knife shows. Never see Backwoodsman available. You just hold on to them. Gave some extra issues to a friend yesterday, he was excited.

Just checked out their site, looks a lot better and easier to navigate. The new issue is up too.

They have a Best of series as well Vol 1&2&3 are available..... and they are very informative :D

here is another magazine that is in the making, they'll be Hosting a survival expo(DFW) in May and I'll be setting up a ESEE knives booth there. http://completesurvivalist.com/
magazine reminds me of the old ASG but the 1st issue is only 30pages long as the magazine is in its early stages.

another is Dave Canterbury's magazine, very similar to the Ron Hoods mag.

I liked the old styling, it was charming and seemed to suit the content, especially the older articles.
