This is the second in the series of three Les Suete models. This one's nice and beefy.... very solid feel in the hand. Here's a few quick shots before I have to run into town. I'll post some better ones later this evening.

Les Suete FLB (Fat Little Bastard)

Blade: 5" x 1/4", Aldo's 1084, 2500 grit hand rubbed bevels, 800 grit flats/edges.

Handle: 4 1/4", Figured Red Maple w/ Minwax Colonial stain, Danish oil and buffed conservator's wax finish. O1 steel pins.

Sheath: In progress

This handle has a slight palm swell.

Thanks for looking!

i like the red maple. It should look very good when the blade and pins get a dark patina on them.

Me too!

I'm counting on a nice patina to blend well with the Colonial stained maple. This stain imparts a nice "old-timey" weathered look, but also enhances the brilliant chatoyance in this piece of wood.

Hey Blue, nice work! You have inspired me to make a similarly shaped knife :) I hope I can do it justice! You can see the drawing in my "New Guy" thread.
