So a friend of mine snagged this out of the cove a while back... I was jealous, I was even MORE jealous when I met my friend at Bladeshow and was able to play with this... what a knife... Check it out:

The Les Voorhies Model 9

Blade: 3.5"
OAL: 8.25"
Weight: 5.8oz
Steel: I'm not 100% certain, gonna guess S30V

The handles are two really pretty pieces of mammoth ivory, while the bolsters are orange peeled stainless damascus. Les' milled pocket clip is really nice, glad this particular knife has it, some of his older knives had fold over clips that I'm not super crazy about...

The blade is impressive, excellent ratio to the handle, tons of bang for the size.

Just overall a really nice piece.

As you can see it's impressive in hand, flips AMAZINGLY well... Les really has the IKBS dialed in. Hope you all enjoy it!

Les is a good dude.

Did the OP buy this knife or was just sillyfied by playing with it?

Cool piece, not sure why the handle materials are floating, but it is interesting.

I don't think I understand what you're asking. The handle materials are shadowboxed, something Les does a bunch. I've actually owned a model 12 that had the same layout.

I've been collecting knives for over 30 years and never heard the term "shadowboxing" before.....ya learn something everyday, I tell ya!

Ok, you got it.

Is this your knife at the end of the day, or does it remain in your friends collection?

Best Regards,
