So last night I bought this

incredible knife online.

I have been searching for a Les Voorhies Pocket Dagger for a while now and it was just by pure luck I ran into this one. I snagged it right away because this knife maker creates some awesome stuff and has a great online reputation.

So when I first saw these daggers a while ago one of the first thoughts I had about them was, "Man the tip of that blade looks so frail, like it could easily break right off if you dropped it." So after I bought this I went online for a bit and was searching for any reports of the VPDs tip breaking off. I haven't found anything indicating that the tips are weak, or any reports of them breaking off.

I figured I would post up a question here and see if anyone has any input about the durability of the blade, or just about Mr. Voorhies work in general.

I do plan to use this as my carry regardless of what legal concerns there may be with blade length or double edge, etc. etc. I need a double edge knife because that is what I have trained with and what I'm used to handling as a result, and my work does not afford me the luxury of being able to carry a fully unconcealed dagger. It has actually taken me a while to find a double edge folder I am happy with, and I'm hoping that after multiple purchases this will be the one. If not, it's a real beauty that I'll be happy to own.

Thank you for your time.

The tip on most of the VPD flippers is pretty delicate, I wouldn't say it was weak but I wouldn't want to plunge it into a board too many times or stick in in anything solid and twist it. The tip on most of the knives I make would be damaged somewhat if dropped point first on a hard surface but it should be minimal damage for any of them (including the VPD). I just ask that VPD owners keep in mind what the knife is really intended for and that it's not a utility knife. Also remember that I can repair pretty much anything that goes wrong, and if it's the owners fault I'll work with them and do the repair pretty reasonably. You should be able to use the knife for a lifetime.

I own this knife and I love it. I don't use it hard though. The tip is very fine and probably should not be dropped or stabbed into anything to hard. It flips fast and smooth. You should be happy with it.
