Less expensive Chicago screws?

Holy cow. I just got sixteen Chicago screws (with posts) for $13.00 from Texas Knifemaker's Supply. I've been looking for a source of 3/16 screws and posts, as well as 1/4 and 1/2, but that seems to be an awful lot to pay.

Do y'all know of someone who sells these cheaper? .81 seems expensive. (Blade Tech sells cheaper, but the smallest they sell is 1/4.)

Thanks,

Matt

Drop a line to Reese Weiland. In a ddition to being an outstanding maker, he runs a supply business called Custom Kraft. His e-mail: rwphil413@earthlink.net

Tell him Bob from up the road sent you. It won't get you a discount but it might get me one

Hey Waxes....

They should be Flogged!!!!

I Hate Companies that Gouge and Rip Off Customers...
I'll NEVER Deal with the Company you mentioned Because of That!

Waxes... Try www.blade-tech.com they are only .10 each there,, but you have to buy 100 at a time....

Hope this helps...

I'll let you in on a secret...if you need screws less than a 1/4" thick (or post, in other words), buy Blade-Tech's smallest screws which are quite short indeed, and use a Dremel to chop off some of the post. It works great.

A little word about Blade-Tech.

I ordered a 4x8 sheet of Concealex and 1 bag each of the screws in question. That was 3 weeks ago. I got a small package that only contained 2 pieces of Concealex and nothing more. I called Victor to find out what was going on and he said he will get it right and get it out immediately. That was more than a week ago. I hope that when the order does finally come it will be correct. And I will have to think very hard about doing any more business with them. Hopefully this was just a big screw up on an employees part.

Glad to know I'm not the only one having problems with Blade-Tech. It took me 4 phone calls and 8 weeks to get 3 small pieces of concealex and a bag of screws and posts. When it did show I recieved 2 bags of screws but no posts. Not a happy camper.

I haven't had a problem with Tim Wegner so I was supprised to read the above...However, a big $ saving tip: Buy the cheaper silver Chicago screws/posts and get a bottle of Molly-Teflon bake-on spray from Brownell's and make your own!
