Hello Bladeforums nice to meet you!

I'm woundering if any of you guys had suggestions on a smallish (wouldn't wanna go much over 3" blade) fixed blade with a dual edge to carry horizontal at like 1 O'clock in a plastic sheath

Normally I'd have plenty of options but I would like to find something with a nice less tactical look (less embarrassing LOL)

Something with micarta, wood or maybe just colored scales would be nice

Something with an up swept blade would also be cool but not necessary, Also if their is a knife that is single edge or just missing one thing I mentioned that you really like it couldn't hurt to mention it

Thanks guys

Plastic sheath?
You mean like a Mora?
Or do you mean kydex/boltaron/holstex type stuff?
Don't really have double edged recommendations - they're illegal here; so I've never bothered exploring that style

Check out
Bradford Guardian 3 (horizontal leather sheath is standard; but he offers kydex). I'm partial to the 3D scales; but the scales come in more colors.
Carothers (CPK) EDC - a horizontal sheath is offered. He's not making them right now; but I wouldn't be surprised if he revisits the model. There have been 3 versions so far (plus some alternate scales and handles).

Top is from a maker here, CPK EDC, SRKW Rodent 3, Bradford G3

Check out this one:

I don't know if he'd do a horizontal sheath; but you can always get one made.

Although not upswept or dual edged, the White River Knives "Caper" has been on my radar for a long time. They have a kydex sheath available for it. They also have a few different handle material options (as well as a version without the scales called the "Backpacker").

Go to AG Russell. Search dagger. Plenty of choices. The Randall Model 24 sure is pretty. but the AGR Sting 3 looks good too, at 1/5 the price. The Boot knife is even less expensive.

That's going to be hard to find in a DE blade .

Spyderco Street Beat , especially if you can get an old micarta handled one . Not DE but still a very competent fighter that looks very innocent .

I carry the backpacker version horizontal a lot. Great little knife. Im mainly use my knives right handed so I carry it on my belt at my 10/11 oclock, with the handle facing in towards my center. Makes the blade draw more comfortable. This also allows access to it with my left hand if needed.

An Esee 3 MIL could work for you, they have a sharpened false edge, not a true dagger type double edge though.

I agree that an ESEE 3 MIL would work well. It has a sharpened swedge but the blade shape and the main edge are still very practical (most double edged knives are not utility oriented).

If you want un upswept blade, there's a company that offers customised Schrade Sharpfingers (and they'll modify other knives, too) which are double edged, come with a cord wrapped handle and a kydex sheath. I've seen a couple at self defence classes and seminars. The company's called "Zulu Bravo Kydex" or something like that.

Thanks for all the awesome suggestions guys I really appreciate you're input

Ive had the guardian 3 before with m390 steel if I'm not mistaken it had micarta handles it was gorgeous but I was lukewarm on the handle and really didn't care for using its leather sheath..... kinda wish I kept it and found another sheath for it

If I could find a satin street beat I would buy it for sure it would be a cool edc combo with my blue handled manix but I've only been able to find the black version which I don't care for all that much

The esee 3 is something I've considered I have a 4 in an armatus (spelling?) Sheath and I've carried it but just not that much do to size/weight it's an awsome knife but I would have been better served with a 3 in hindsight

Some other really cool options listed I will have to look into

Gryphon M10 would fit the bill except it’s 4”. I don’t find it too terribly “tactical” looking, but that is a matter of opinion.
