My neighbour came over the other night carrying what I thought was a pizza in his hand, his family (often bring me over food).

But no it was a parcel.

Getting older I forget when I order things, but no again.

It was from Jack a tottaly unexpected parcel way out of the blue.

A SAK with a superb set of scales,a SAK how to book (I love those and will try out a few ideas like the stove etc.).

Plus the mini tools that ive always wanted but never got round to buying,I think they are a great idea.

As for the card its Dennis The menace (with a nicely written note),Ive been a fan since I was kid and joined the fan club when I was about 30 (very childish, but I dont care). 😁

Thanks Jack

Its very much appreciated.

Lest we forget...it’s St.Georges day today.

St. Georges day was a big occasion when I was attached to the 1st Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers (1RRF).

The only unit in the British army to have 4 colours on parade (I believe).

On St Georges day besides the Hackle worn behind our cap badge we added a small red and white artificial rose.

We were REME attached but proud to wear the hackle along with them.

I was attached to Z company which originated from the Royal Northumberland Fusliers (geordies)+,there is a lot of complicated history.

I left the Army in 1983 so 1982 was my last parade with them.

Last night I was re united on FB with a old mate,I took him under my wing when he first joined from training.

I was young he was even younger (an old sweat and I was only in my early 20s, they gave us a lot of responsibility). 🤣

I called him Big Bud as he called everyone Bud and he was taller than me (I was 6ft),he did his first exercise with me at 1RRF.

It was a lot of fun wizzing around Germany recovering and fixing vehicles,we had a lot of laughs.

Later he did the Commando course with the Royal Marines, his son also joined the marines, hes a massive 6 foot 5 inches,I wont be arguing with him. 😁

Last week I had another friend find me on FB we served at 2 units together including 1 RRF,before he got married we had some wild and crazy times but dont tell her.🤣

Last parade I was on.
