It’s not new, but like my hat I never leave the house without it. Sometimes in my leatherman sheath or in a BuyBrown minus tek-lock in the front pocket of my jeans.

What Busse does everyone use everyday??
Ian.:D

the ad variant is my ed cutter, the as and bm are backups. the bm is what i consider to be the absolute perfect "bug out bag" blade. maybe it could be a little bit more forward balanced, but i dont think that matters to much. the as will be replaced with the sjt once it comes out, wich will get used a lot more then the as... i just need a little more slicing room for fabrics and such...

Nice rig Ian.
What does the working end of the knife look like now, after some hard use?
I really like that sheath. Rigged for horizontal carry???
I'll be ordering an AD today and would like information on the maker.
Thanks, Chuck.

Still waiting to purchase a new Active Duty with desert tan coating and desert tan handles. Hmmmm, nice!

Hi Chuck -- The Moo-dex bender of that sheath is none other than our very own Leatherman! His web site is Leather Arts. I also have a BAD ASS (Busse Active Duty - Advanced Sheathing System) and it's a great way to carry the AD. I've been thinking of drilling two holes in the belt loop so that I can attach a mini-TecLoc for vertical carry.

getting a piece of seatbelt and sewing a line on top and bottom (to keep it from swinging) works really well for converting it to vertical carry, and gives you options on how you like to wear it.

Thanks for the great suggestion Seth! Looks like I'll have to swing by Viking Auto Salvage on my way home. :D

Thanks guys.
Just ordered AD from Shaggi and sheath from Dwayne. Great people to deal with.
Chuck

Hi csbjr,

It is indeed one of Dwayne’s BAD ASS sheaths, they are both good ideas from Seth and Drew on converting it to normal carry, mine is one of the first that Dwayne made and I believe I’ve read in one of his posts where he has devised a method in the later models where it can be carried upright as well. Dwayne may confirm that here?

I should have taken a pic with it out of its sheath as well, the blade is in perfect shape apart from a few Kydex scratches and a blood stain over the logo. The latter I’m afraid of removing in fear of removing the logo with it.:D

The knife is a great all rounder and a handy skinner besides the obvious feel of quality .
Ian.

i think later models had the x leather on it, to accomadate both horizontal and vertical carries... but i definitely could be wrong...

theres always ballistol :D im sure that any other cleaner would work just as well, i just suggest ballistol for everything... peroxide may help, as its a good bio cleaner. (as i read for the first time a while ago that peroxide is to be used to remove debris from a wound, not sterilize/kill bacteria in it *wich youd use alcohol for*)

Hey Guys, sorry I got in on this late! Better late than never eh. Yea, i have a couple of different ways to hang those little buggers now, the X straps are working great, and I also put a flat loop on the back as well if it suits better. I'll dig up some pics if anyone is interested....Thanks for the kind words btw! :D

the wrapped one is usually carried at formal dinners and the cg model is what i carry at work.
