Let me ask about the fit

Will a regular 7a or 7b fit a HD7 frame lock. You know swap the blades out? thanks and keepem sharp
 
Locks are basically fitted on an individual basis, you might be lucky and you might not.

Im not actually sure if the HDs have the same fittings as the liners, just give it a go and see, your not going to ruin the knife by trying.
 
IIRC you cannot go from frame lock to liner lock or vise versa, i dont think it will work.
 
Figured as much. I am not going to try it. Just don't want to risk marring up the HD. keepem sharp and thanks

I tried changing the hd-7b blade out with a regular 7a blade, it fit but the frame lock bar went all the way over and the blade had a few thousands play up and down. I ended up having Ferrrk do me up a few different frame locks patterns a while back with some 7a blades that I sent out to Tom for regrinds. I believe Ferrrk posted some pics of the knives where he hangs out. Both fellas do some incredible work. Hope that helps!

Would like to see on the 7a's in a frame lock. Don't go to the USN though. Just don't care for it over there. keepem sharp

its gotta lotta good folks just like BF FWIW, lot fewer members though i think, probably more strictly ran than BF, but a cool place nontheless, i have been a member since yr 1, not a 'suspect' though lol.

if ya are into emersons or striders its the best forum for info on those brands.
