Just kidding. :D

I wanted to post some pics of a Cold Steel Trail Hawk that I modified last weekend.

As you can see, I reprofiled the head and cut a spike into the back.
I finished the handle off with a coat of coyote tan paint and OD green paracord wrap.

That's cool. I was thinking about doing that to my little multi purpose hammer, axe. Well I don't have the tools to do it so I would have to borrow. what did you use to grind down the hammer poll.

I used a hacksaw to cut it of at an angle and finished the profile on my benchtop belt sander ($79 @ Harbor Freight).

I sandblasted off all the old glossy finish and repainted it flat black.

Have you used the spike much ? How dies it hold up ? Interesting profile .
I have not used the spike at all yet. It's pretty soft steel so I don't know how well it will hold up to abuse - we'll see.

Nice job! Have you thought of maybe sharpening the bottom edge for trapping and hooking? Just a thought for a nice combat hawk.

I'm going to have to do another one!
