Mike,

I'm not attracted to the handle and the guard. Part of it is a personnal lack of interest for handles with a round profile.

On the other hand, I like the blade a lot. The damascus is clean, regular, and just the right number of layers. The grinds look elegant and well done. The overall design is very elegant, with that great flowing clip. Very classy.

I love the blade and the fittings - very impressive, indeed. I am less enamored of the handle - from a purely aesthetic standpoint - it seems to have a somehwat exaggerated palm swell.

Overall though, that's a terrific bowie.

Roger

everything except the buttplate, which is the wrong shape, IMo.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

...and I really like the handle! I'd like to see that handle on a fully convexed blade, damascus or otherwise, of the same shape. Maybe without the swedge.
But I'm not complaining. It's a great looking knife from where I sit.

I like the design of the blade and the guard, also the damascus steel looks great. Personally i don't like round handles. IMHO the squared platten doesn't fit to the round pommel platten.

Mike -- the handle draws the eye first and unfortunately, for me, I have to agree with others that did not like it either. I don't have a problem with rounded handles but unfortunately, this one has such an exaggerated palm swell, it is overwhelming. The blade is terrific and the grinds are great.

I also have to agree with STeven and find the platton on the butt could perhaps be a concave shape all around like it is on the top (required to show your name). Just carry that theme thoughout. Right now you have 3 competing shapes. Just make it one shape.

I agree with Steven on the buttplate and with Roger about the palm swell, but I still think the knife looks darn good. The blade is exceptional, and I also really like the guard.

I have to agree with my friend Joss.

I can't believe what I'm hearing about the handle:confused:
Maybe the butt cap should change its shape but that handle is beautiful.

Thanks for looking, and all the comments.
looks like most of you liked the blade more than the handle. If you would tell me what you would have liked to see for a guard and handle on a blade like this.
Thanks
Mike

Nice knife. Beautiful damascus. Nice wood. I'm not really wild of the handle shape, but overall very nice knife.

Kind regards,

Jos

I very much like the total package. I would have to hold the knife to determine if the palm swell would work for me.

I like the blade shape and damascus very much but was also thinking the swell in the handle seemed too large. It may be one of those situations where holding the knife is necessary to appreciate it.

Thanks for posting it.

Peter
