She is a twin sister to Dave's Jewel, and is a wonderful gal to handle :) . She came scary sharp right from the sheath, and showed me right away that she was capable of doing damage... No blood was drawn... just a ever so deep line across my thumb. Actually the cat put her paw up on Ashly's spine and pressed down as I was testing the blade  . The cat survived her first contact with Ashley... so did my thumb

Anyway, I haven't had a chance to do anything but take these photos (very quick... down and dirty), but the engraving is excellent. The grind is the same, even and well defined. At first I thought the bevel was lopsided from one side to the next (not same angle for both sides), but I think that might have just been my eyes fooling me...

The horn handle is seperated by the buttcap a little, which I think I can fill with epoxy. There is one part where it isn't even with the buttcap... just a little outside. Walosi tells me this is an easy fix too. The horn itself doesn't have as much gray grain line as showed in Dave's Jewel... but there are some there.

Ashley fits her sheath like a khuk should. Perfectly. I'm thinking that she deserves to be treated to a new cover from Sandi... or something else from Terry too.

Once I get time, I'll go up in the hills and let her stretch her legs a bit, then post the results.

Till then :D:D:D

Congrats, Alan. She's a beauty for sure.

Do you mean to say that you have intentions of spoiling this Beauties Virtue?!?!?!?!?

You! You! You Dog You!!!! :D

Beautiful knife and Beautiful Pix Al!!!!!!! If that's down and dirty I wonder what up and clean looks like!!!!

And I agree with N2S..."But, we all know you will be cheating on her soon enough."

You are a Dog!!!!:p  :D

Al I'm maybe the onlyest one here that would understand if you do
"go up in the hills and let her stretch her legs a
bit."
However that's why I had the YCS done up with inlayed handles and silver mounts.
No sense in decorating what's gonna get scarred up and stained in my opinion, but there's a lot of guys that still think the YCS and her tool's are too pretty to use. :D

However if I had Rusty's Sun, Moon, and Stars I would have to think a while before I decided to put one that beautiful to work, but if it was the only one I had then what the hay'ill?:)

The scales on her dragon is different from the scales on Jewel's. Yet it is scary to hear that there is a small gap in the handle, and the horn is slightly above the but-cap, cause mine is the same too!!! They really are sisters!!!

Remember that I had mine first. ;) :p :D

Now that I look more closely the entire background of the scrollwork is a different theme, and Sanu put his mark below the work on yours and above the work on mine.

Arn't sisters wonderful!;)

I am curious as to how much you want for her?
I think I could handle them both at the same time. ;)
Just me and the two ladies. We could have alot of fun! ;) :p

Maybe that was pushing it? :o
Maybe not? :o
I think I need to stop sharpening my JKM and get some sleep.:)

AC,
ARE YOU SURE THIS ONE IS NOT TOO PLAIN?? :DHate to tell you ,"She's butt ugly"!No wonder you are already planning to cheat on her! hee!
I feel much better now!:D OF COURSE, BEING KINDLY I WILL TAKE HER IN
poor, "litte" K!

NICE!!!!!!!!!!:D

Equally nice composition, and lighting. I agree with Yvsa "if this is down and dirty.."I'd like to see the good stuff. I don't know nawthin bout that ther studio photography--the things you folks can do with lighting amazes me. And makes me a little jealous sometimes when I've got a beautiful subject outside, but the light is all wrong!

Second!!!!!!!!

Thanks guys for the positive comments!

Tsimi... Ashley heard the "butt ugly" comment  . I don't think you want to meet her anytime in the near future... I think you should wait until the next convention. She will PROBABLY will have forgotten about it by then :D.

Yvsa, I think I might have to let Ashely decide on what she wants to do when I take all the khuks out to play. I *think* I can clean her up if she wants to play... I think she is kind of a tom boy...

Dave, Ashley isn't for sale. Besides, one man having the two sisters is just plain kinky  . Well... uhm, on second thought... How much would you like for Jewel? :D:cool:;) .

It is cool to see two creations by a man across the globe. They are both one of a kind, but still share little imperfections that show their lineage... Sisters always seem to share the common bond... Dave, I just realized... we are brother-in-laws :D

Alan

That's a REALLY beautiful knife... The name fits!;)

Maybe Sandi could design some kind of "jewelry" for the scabbard, sorta like the decorative chains on some kothimoras?:D

Dave,

It's a definite plan. A family reunion at the convention :D .

Matt,

Some khuk lingere by Sandi... there is a nice thought... hmmm, blue velvet :D, little silver chains looping down, dangling suductively, jingling like little bells as we walk together in the hills :) .

Sandi, what are your prices??? From Yvsa's pics of the convention, you do excellent work :) . I might have to place a few orders with you (and have Terry re-do a shealth too).

Alan

AC,
BUTT UGLY should be ner name, she doesn't have the beauty of THAT NDN'S K, NOR DOES SHE HAVE THE beauty of my WW2 OR BAS, or the flowing lines of my M43(all Durba's of course)! Come to think of it I have found a place for your "street walki' K's ,IN THE BACK OF THE CAVE "TOO BUTT UGLY TO BE IN THE FRONT! hee(Boy am I going to get flak
