There was a thread several months ago with Spyderco HQ looking for feedback regarding production of FRN color versions of the Police Model. The forum seemed to be 50/50.
The average mass market buyer is not going to differentiate the Endura from the Police Model - handles or blade shape or blade metals.
The SS Police is too heavy and large for the mass market EDC.
Why not simply offer affordable versions of the Endura in FRN fashion colors? Yes, younger people will have 3-4 pairs of sunglasses or watches to match their outfits - why not 3-4 Endura Fashion Models?
If anyone has read my self-defense course, you know that I would encourage a young woman to be armed - a Fashion Endura would be nice.
The Endura does not look like a toy knife - the Endura is large enough to say to an aggressor, "Stay Back!"
Let's let the ladies state their color preferences.
Then, Spyderco can sponsor a video for women on the use of knives for self-defense (MBC) and utility (using the Fashion Colored Endura, of course) - THEN - Spyderco may really start something new and important!
