Well it has been crazy hectic around here the past few months. Last Oct my daughter got married and I decided to make a cake knife for her. I did not get any pics as I finished it like the day before and was hoping the photographer would be able to do some decent shots. Here is what she took.

Knife is a bowie blade I had made but put aside. Not really a classic cake knife but she and her husband love custom knives and this one fit their personality. 11" blade of 1095/15n20 feather. Stainless fixtures with coined copper spacer. Black dyed and stabilized maple burl handle.

Now my oldest SON made his announcement of his upcoming wedding Christmas Day. His wedding is this Saturday!!! Luckily all we have to do is show up for this one. However I did make him a cake knife also. Just finished it today and decided I better get a picture of it before we left.

Another Feather Pattern Blade from a billet that was too thin for a Bowie but just right for a Kitchen Knife. Figured this one can be a bit more useful. Blade is 10.75" long with radial pattern collar, premium Koa handle with a Domed 18k Gold pin.

Now I think the weddings are done. We can get back to a semi normal life..

Thanks for looking

Awesome knives mate and an awesome wedding present! I also made one for my daughters wedding. Makes that special day even more so.
Cheers Keith

Those are NICE knives. REALLY like the damascus and the ferrule/spacers on the first knife.

Chuck those are both very nice the cake will be gone in a year or so but the memory of the day will live on in the knife I think that is why so many folks want a custom knife for there cake cutting.

That's awesome Chuck!!! :)

Great thread for several reasons! :)

BTW- did I mention that Angi and I are getting married this summer.... *nudge nudge, wink wink* ;) :D LOL

Thanks again. Like I said been a hectic year. Traveled all day today and made it to San Diego and he gets hitched tomorrow. He is doing it right for sure, Getting married on a YACHT. He done good. Could not be happier about either of their choices in a spouse.

BTW Mark, that black burl on the first knife was the stuff someone had sent back to you. It is gorgeous. The gold rays accent the piece giving it a very elegant look.
