I have something new I am trying out in 2 different patterns, I'm still waiting on some odds n ends in order to start the second design but we can build the first.
Let's get cutting!
Chopped out the main bodies, belt loops and split the inlays.
Can't forget the welts and wedges
Last minute add in. I realized the other day that I have never inlaid one of the crossdraw sheaths I build. Let's throw a couple in for wiggles and giggles.
Split and cut out for the inlays.
Rummaged around in one of the buckets for a minute. Off white gator and black shark. Works for me. Snip snip
Getting all the inner edges dyed and burnished. Can be a bit difficult getting in the corners without slopping dye everywhere so we use modelers paint brushes.
Getting all the belt loops glued for stitching.
Ditto on the welts and wedges
Sanded the wedges into wedges if that makes sense.
Getting the belt loops ready for stitching
That's all for today. Tomorrow the inlays get sewn in and splits get glued back on. I am purposely not showing what the inlays are on these Mountain sheaths, it's a surprise, we will see if you guys like them. Our test designs out in the wild have had very favorable reviews.
See ya tomorrow. Same cow time, same cow channel.
