The contenders,United cutlery m48,Bahco laplander,Becker bk9,Becker Bk4,Norlund small hatchet.
I enjoy all of these tools, but some do the job of chopping a dried oak 2x4 better than others.
United cutlery M48 tomahawk is fun to throw and seems pretty bullet proof ,but even with nice sharpened edge and looking really spiffy (if I say so myself) doesnt quite do the job.47 hits to get through 2x4.
Bahco Laplander, razor sharp and will have this in arsenal of wood processing equiptment,102 strokes but very low energy use.
Becker Bk4, chopping machine but not the winner, 43 chops. nice and sharp could be user error.
Becker Bk9, I love this knife , it always performs, 34 chops
THE WINNER, Small Norlund axe,26 chops. I polished and handled this axe and it performs very well. I'll still take my 9 for every day use!
