Did the forums actually get you hooked on knives, or were you already hooked?

For myself, I have always enjoyed knives but since the internet popped up and opened up more doors to knife collecting, it has just increased my addiction to knives. Also, in my area that I reside there are not many knife addicts at all, this place just brings my love for knives closer to MANY that enjoy the same things I do!

Why have you become so knutty regarding knives?

I was already hooked (in part to knife rags and in part to being genetically engineered to like knives) but this place just made me realize that I wasn't an alone freak in this world. Now I'm just a freak.

Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they're not out to get me.

I was already hooked on knives before forums like this popped up on the internet. However, spending time here has certainly fed my obession for fine blades.

Growing up on a farm where we butchered pigs, goats, chickens, rabbits, steers, turkeys, ducks, and geese, not to mentions wild game, knives have been a part of my life for nearly as long as I can remember.

I get some pleasure from finding a relentlessly peaceful use for a combative looking knife.

I have been "hooked" on knives since I was 5 years old. From that point on, my passion continued to grow. The forums just made things easier and much more fun. With BFC, I never would have met you crazy bastids

I have loved knives ever since I got my first one when I was eight.
For me the forum is a place to have fun, learn, and converse with other knifeaholics.

I've loved knives for as long as I can remember, I'm old enough to know a time when everyone I know carried a pocket knife. I never really knew anyone who collected them though. In '98 I saw my first copy of Blade magazine, this was the first time I knew there were others like myself in the world. Next, from an ad in Blade I went to my first knife show. The people and the makers I met there were the nicest people I had ever met, now I was really hooked bad. Last year I got my first computer, found BladeForums.com and that's when I knew I was in real trouble. The final blow was finding BF's Chat, where I can talk real time with some very talented makers. I've had two custom knives made in the last couple of months from makers I've met on Chat. Two years ago I didn't know custom knife makers existed, and now I have the feeling I'm not that far away from becoming one myself. This is getting way out of hand.

I would have to agree with the majority... I have loved knives for most of my 26 years on this planet...

Living in a small town in KY, I done an enormous amount of hunting, and really appreciated a good knife....

Back when I was a youngster, about the only knives I ever owned were Bucks, Old Timers, Case, and Uncle Henry's -- All of which I still really like, and continue to use.

My story is very similar to to Phil's --- A few years ago I found a Blade Magazine at one of the local grocery stores, and after getting my first pc, I went through one of the mags. highlighting knife sites, one of which was BladeForums.com.... The rest, as they say, is history.

The affliction has gotten a helluva lot worse since finding this place

, and meeting/socializing with a lot of the wonderful people in the knife industry (collectors, makers, and dealers)! I have had the privilige to become friends with same fantastic folks!!!

I have loved knives since I was a little kid, but until I found bladeforums, I really knew nothing about them. I credit bladeforums for making me very knowledgeable, and for making me very poor, because I keep spending money on new knives.

Not many in your area? You're kidding right?

We're here, we just don't flaunt it. Although I'm in the Akron area now, I remember more than a few runs down Columbia Road back in the late 60's. Once you made the South turn by the Falls, it was roll the throtle time all the way to 303. ( if you timed it right you could catch the light at 82) FWIW, I carried a fixed blade under the seat of my Honda 350 cause contrary to the popular slogan of the day, I didn't always meet the nicest people on my Honda. My hooking came early in life

I've always loved knives since I was very young. However;the internet and the Bladeforums definetly has exposed me to alot of info and insight to different knives, quality, functionality, and varying knife costs etc.Even just being able to hear varying feedback, opinions from all the knife users here can give a person a solid foundation giving one guidance for their knife purchases, preventing costly mistakes.Yes;I love Knives and Bladeforums!

I think Freud would have deduced it to a conflict of the id and ego...oh screw that, I like knives because they are sharp, shiny, and dangerous!

I would like a babe in the same way: silver bikini, and holding an MP5.

I have always loved knives. We are merely mental patients and BladeForums is our asylum (at least according to my wife).
