I suspect Bill is going to have quite a backlog of orders, etc., to catch up on when he returns.

I'm as anxious as any to see the new special projects. As soon as they come out I'll bet Bill's phone will start ringing, and his e-mail hopping. Rather than bury him under a mountain of work, why don't we try to wait patiently until he gets caught up to see what the new offerings are?

I'm going to sit on my typing fingers, and when that doesn't work any longer I'll find a big chunk of wood in the backyard to chop up into little tiny pieces.

Yes, Howard, we all know poor decrepit old Uncle Bill has one foot in the grave and the other one on a banana peel...

Good point, Howard. I agree with a temporary moratorium until the beginning of March or when Uncle Bill gives indication that he and Yangdu are ready to get on with HI business. I think it is worth the wait as he will be busy enough with answering mail, sending off orders, scanning photos taken during the trip, jet lag, etcetera.

Absolutely...we bug Uncle as little as possible for a while...that's gonna be some killer jet lag.

Sounds good. Now if Uncle Bill will just pay attention to the rest and relax part of it we should all be in good shape.

Count me in on the rebellion. But, first, I want to make sure that I'm clear about what we're doing. As I understand it, we forumites are not going to make any posts or send any emails to Uncle Bill until March 1, to allow him some time to get his feet under him after his trip. Is this correct?

We'll have to get ourselves straight - no whining/begging/pleading and let Uncle Bill take his time getting things together.

We'll also have to make sure Uncle Bill understands this. No bugging him til he posts that he has 5 of these for sale, and then let the catfight begin!!!! Phttt! Hisssss!! Mrowwwrrrrrr!!!

Heck Stephen, I didn't mean don't post. We have to have some fun. I was just thinking that we should wait a little while before trying to get Bill to put up the pictures of his special projects.

OK, Howard, now I understand! Rusty, as our peerless moderator and champion of disturbed forumites everywhere, I think you should decide on the specific rules of this rest period that we're going to try to pull off for Uncle Bill, then post the rules on a new thread for all the see. I eagerly await your command!

P.S. The hardest part will probably be trying to get Uncle Bill to abide by the rules.

Uncle Bill will pace himself. And when I think about it if the Maoists couldn't kill me I must be pretty hard to kill. Don't worry. I'll be open for business, answering email, posting here, and talking on the phone. Yangdu and a helper I've got scheduled to do just that - help her with shipping, cleaning, mailing, banking, etc. -- will take care of that end. We will get it done one way or the other. If the kamis can pound hot steel all day surely I can peck at a keyboard and talk on the phone.

Blessings from all of us here in Nepal to all of you.

A helper? Who is the addition to the HI family? Do give us the juicy details...

We are trying to make ourselves dispensable both here and in Nepal. I'm looking to get Gelbu as a helper and replacement and he has found a replacement for himself. Pala is too old to run the shop -- it is much more tiring than the work I do here. With luck, we'll get something done this year.

I'd love to work myself into a consulting position and that's my aim.

Stay tuned.

Sounds good from Boston. I hope that it works out for you. I just noticed that the posts were going at a steady rate until just about two days ago at which point the posts dropped off to nothing. I guess that everyone in the forum was holding their breath until you got back uncle. Good to have you home safe and sound.
