My very first khukri was from Raju Rasali "Amtrak".

Might have to check my piggy bank. But don't wait on me, go for it somebody.

I'm gonna ponder this until morning so if your on the fence don't hesitate. This one kind of sings.
Might be a good running mate to my first Amtrak? That's good enough reason right.

What's the difference between a Sirupate and a Kobra? The seem pretty close to one another.

They are very similar and as long as I've been playing here I'm still no expert on the different models. I think and don't quote me on this the Sirupati has an open cho where the Chitlangi, also similar and the Kobra have closed cho's.
The Siru is probably a bit wider through the blade but not a lot.

If your pondering this one, I'll let it ride for another hour or so, was fixing to hit the button when I saw your post. You got first dibs.

The Kobra is usually a bit more for martial arts purposes and it is very light. Not intended for heavy duty use (like splitting hardwood). It has a closed cho and usually a plain line fuller on the spine. There are usually 3 bumps on the pommel. This one is pretty much a perfect length to weight ratio that makes it feel alive in your hand.

The Sirupati is also pretty light and quick swinging but it is definitely strong enough to do a heavy day's work. Sirupatis have an open cho and more detailed scroll work on the spine.

I'm sure there are some exceptions to these "rules" because the kamis take liberty with the design and each khuk is a one of a kind creation.

No no no, please go ahead and order my friend. :)

Reason I was asking is that I have a custom Sirupate on order. I really love the utility that comes with it(and the smaller Kobras like this one).

:cool::thumbsup:
