Let's keep it simple...

Would you be interested in a Exotic/Ti framelock Pack Rat XL?

Would you buy a Ti framelock Packrat XL with an exotic blade steel or not?

I'd love to hear your steel recommendations...especially those that consider steel choices across various price points...

Alright alright, but you did say keep it simple. ;)

Depends on the price point were trying to hit. Either a VG-10 or ZDP-189.

I voted no, and here is why:

1. I'm poor, and even if I thought the knife was frickin' awesome, my wife would banish me if I spent the money on it.:grumpy:

2. If I did have the scratch, I don't think I'd be interested in an XL version. 3.5 inches is pushing it for EDC for me, so I'm liking my blades closer to 3 inches.

Split the difference on cost vs function. I could actually live with an XL Packrat in the upcoming 14-series Sandvik, with a clad steel framelock ala the Groove.

I'd go no as well. If someone offered the knife to me, I wouldn't turn it down, but funds are limited, and Kershaw has other products that I'd prefer.

Not that it wouldn't be great, though :-)

I would nominate a 154CM blade.

+1 ...I think this is a GREAT IDEA ;)!!! Besides I need to add to my "RAT PACK" ...What I call my collection of Packrats :D. Take Good Care All and Be Safe Always.

God Bless :)

I almost hate to say it but . . . this would be another good candidate for a Kershaw forum knife. ;)

Even though a Ti S110V ZT0200 is my current dream knife, that probably isn't going to happen. The Pack Rat is a sweet design, and with a 4" S110V blade it would be really nice, so that sounds good to me.
The only way I'd agree to the Pack Rat is with a 4" S110V blade. Otherwise it just isn't enough to catch my dollar.
