So I am dying it obtain a Seax. I find the ones for sale either not real enough or over-done (expensive customs). So I was spit-balling with Paintbrush and an Old Hickory Large Butcher knife. Mind you, this was just a quick concept drawing. I was astonished at how well it turns out...in concept. Very easy blade modification. Needs a handle treatment that is more appropriate. I might knock off the handle and file down the tang or just find a treatment that hides the full tang construction.

But, I am pretty sure I have found the solution to my Seax desire.

Others have used these old Hickory blades to create bowies which gave me the idea.

I made an inexpensive but very utilitarian and sharp Seax from a 12" Tramontina machete. Reprofiled and polished the blade, used Cold Blue to "stain" the steel and sanded and used BLO on the wood.
