. . . what gear would you carry and why? (for simplicity, let's narrow it down to gun/folder and multi-tool/light)

Gun - Glock 19 or SIG P228
Knife and Multi-tool - Spydie Manix and SOG Powerlock
Light - Fenix L2P

Why? If I'm going to be sent or assigned for sometime in the far-flung and pobably hazardous corners of the world, I'd want my gear to be tough, reliable, low-maintenance and with readily available or replaceable parts because I don't have the luxury of resources at my disposal. (e.g. - it's going to be tough getting CR123 batteries for my high-end incandescent tac light or quality ammnunition for my gun).

What's yours?

With you on the Glock...
But if I'm Jack Bauer, SOMEBODY is going to build be a perfect auto (and I'd carry a small fixed as a back-up) and a SOG powerlock.

The light is a tough one....

JACK BAUER uses HEFTY dry-cleaning bags and GENERAL ELECTRIC lamp cords exclusively when interrogating suspected terrorists.

Browning Hi-Power, I don't think a place exists in the world that doesn't have a cheap clone or replacement parts.

Folder-no, Busse-YES

And since I'm Jack Bauer, I work better when it's dark;)

well, unlike jack I'd wear body armour and carry spare magazines...and a rifle.

It's like, 1 day a year where you have at least 24 gunfights....time to invest in a rifle and a plate carrier. Hell, my job isn't anything like jack bauer's, and i still wear kevlar to work.

Knee pads for crouching in alleys gun pointing in the air for 4.5 hours each day. Keep your joints feeling young again, and keep the dirt and grime away with acme brand knee pads.

Very good idea:thumbup: I'd have to say whatever handgun is accepted to replace the M9 but if it sucks I'd go with the Springfield XD in .45. Long gun definitely a M14 with Vltor mod stock.

I would be the poor mans Jack Bauer, casio G Shock watch, canadian issue man purse for a jackpac, malice clips instead of handcuffs, CZ75, CRKT Sting with
On Scene tactical sheath. A fenix light, one of those cool monoculars Jack has and a homeade lockpick set made from hacksaw blades with one of those nifty new Byrd spyderwrenches Sal posted the other day. A nokia spy phone.
A memorex traveldrive preloaded with some hacking tools.

after thinking about it a minute i would probably carry pretty much what i do now except i would add body armor.

i would carry a glock 23 IWB with a spare mag and a kahr PM9 as a back up gun, and a kel tech P32 as a hideout.

knife would be a emerson waved and bolstered CQC8 (which i am sure ernie would give me,if i was jack bauer i'd know ernie and more importanly ernie would know me lol) and a bud nealy pesh kebz 5" for a fixed blade, also would have a MT halo or makora somewhere or another.

would carry a surefire L4 as a primary light and a fenix P1D-CE as a pocket light,

watch would be a rolex GMT (jack wears a rolex sub IIRC).

phone would be motorola razr.

almopst exactly what i carry now lol.

oh, i would have my colt lightweight sporter (or a full auto version of the same) with samson 4 rail hand guard/SF M2/eotech sight in the trunk, also maybe a barret .50 for long range work,

If I was like Jack Bauer, I would carry

a lightsaber and a Blade Runner shotgun pistol ;).

Really, how could he carry anything less than a sidearm, pistol and small light? I would probably opt for a Glock 17 or Ruger P95, nigh indestructible and accurate pistols. A big manual action folder, no autos, they could malfunction, or a fixed blade. Probably a Spyderco Military or Benchmade Skirmish.

For a light, a Surefire. Not sure which one though.

BTW, how much ammo does he go through in one day/season? I watch about four episodes, go out of my mind when the clock comes up every fifteen minutes, and then catch the last episode.

If I was Jack I would be in jail for being inapropriate with my smokin hot daughter.

Gun: silenced pp7. If bond can use it, it has to be good (I know nothing about guns whatsoever):D
Folder: dr Gunhammer mt - speaks for itself
multi=lm charge tti
flashlight: fenix l2d ce and p1d ce. l2d for the practicality of the battery switch, and p1d for the compactness of that little fucker

An Ed Brown special forces 1911 .45acp w/ 2 spare mags
A Rolex stainless submariner
A Spyderco Manix in PE
A SOCOM14 from springfield armory w/ aimpoint optics
apple cell phone
flex cuffs
Body armor
wiley x glasses

Even though he is British I would rather be James Bond. He has a much better benefits package, and he never gets tortured that badly. (to be clear, I would rather be the Sean Connery Bond or the Brosnen Bond and not the pansy they have now.)

If I were Jack, I would carry an HK compact in .357 sig or .40 cal., or Glock 23 or 32. The forty would be nice because if he ever ran out of ammo he could get some from just about any police officer in the US. I would have a BUG in an ankle holster the took the same ammo and mags as the sidearm. Preferably the subcompact HK or Baby glock in a matching cal.

I would carry a Surefire E2D Defender flashlight, a SOG EOD powerlock (need those crimpers), a small fixed blade (maybe the new Busse Badger Attack Tac when it comes out), and keep the Sebenza.

If I was McGuyver I would only need a pack of chewing gum and a sewing kit.

If I was Chuck Norris I would not need to carry anything. I would just advertise on TV, radio and the internet that I was coming for the bad guys, and they would all kill themselves out of respect.

If I was me... I would call Jack Bauer, James Bond, McGuyver, Chuck Norris and maybe a young Steve Segal and subcontract my work out to them;)
