Let's see more manipulation techniques

Of course, Clay's site is stuffed full of great video files and his video is really of great quality. But, as I have demonstrated by posting a few video files on my site, you can make adequate videos of your manipulation techniques with a very inexpensive video-conference camera that attaches to your computer's parallel or USB port. These cameras come with the software you need to make .avi files such as those on my site. My little camera was an open-box special at Fry's electronics for $19.99. I often see these sorts of cameras for $35 and less.

Plan to spent an hour or two experimenting with lighting and with the settings on the camera to get a good result.

You can not post a video file here on bladeforums.com quite like you can a picture, but you can post a link to a video file on a website.

Haven't got a website? Well, first off all, you might and not even know it. Many ISPs include a modest web space with their e-mail accounts. Ask your ISP. Failing that, there are many places where you can get inexpensive and even free webspace.

So, come on, I, for one, am tired of seeing pictures of balisongs sitting on tables. Let's see those balisongs doing what they're made to do.

Wow Chuck! That sounds like a very inexpensive way for us to strut our stuff. I'll give that a try. Will have to get the website going first of course. Thanks!

Two three that I am aware of are xoom.com, anglefire.com, and virtualave.net. There are others and I'm sure that others here will share more. All of these will plaster your page with ads, but that's how they pay the bills. For just a personal website to show off your balisong manipulations, it'll be fine.

>>Anyone know where to get free web space??

The best place for video is castup.net They will even give you code can use to put the video anywhere, even in one of these posts.

I have used the Intel video conferance camera and it takes pretty good video for the price. Not as good as a $1000 digital sony, but you do NOT need a video capture card for the Intel, just plug it into your USB port and it's fairly easy to record video and capture photos. If you want to put it on the Internet, you can go to Real.com and start to wonder around, they will give you a trial version of a program that will save video in a format for the internet. It's a lot of fun, and it's not that difficult to figure out. Esp, sense I see those cameras selling for under $100. It well worth it for the fun you get

100Mbytes.

Oh, and I that MP3 thing messes up my browser too. But, I kicked the Real Player off my system about a year ago at Gateway's advice. According to them, it's rather a CPU hog even when you're not doing anything with it. I know that my system really perked up when I finally got that Real Player deinstalled, and that was no easy task either, the folks at Gateway had to talk me through a rather elaborate process. Now, my computer is a 450MHz, so it's no rocket, but it should have enough to surf the web. But, that Real Player program was just bogging it down, even when I wasn't playing anything with it. Gateway said that that was a common problem. In fact, when I called their tech support asking about why my PC suddenly seemed sluggish, one of the first things they guy asked was, "Do you have the Real Player installed?" "Yes, but I'm not playing anything." "It doesn't matter. That thing runs all the time and takes a lot of CPU cycles. Let's try getting rid of it." "Ok." And that put the spunk back in my PC.

I would be uncomfortable trying to guide you through that process and it was rather involved. I'm also afraid that not only do you need a Gateway PC, but you have to have paid them the $200 extra for a support contract. Sorry.

Balisongman:

1. click start button
2. scroll up and click "settings"
3. click "control panel", it should be on the top
4. double-click icon called "Add/Remove Programs"
5. a list of installed programs will pop up, in alphabetical order. Scroll down to Real Player.
6. click on Real player
7. press "Add/Remove Program" button in lower left corner
8. The following promps should be easy to follow.

You can use this process for just about any program.

Unfortunately, that standard de-install procedure won't work. This thing gets its claws into your computer really bad. Part of the problem is that whenever you've got a network connection open, this thing goes out and trys to update itself.

Anyway, finally getting fully rid of it made a noticable difference on my computer.

I know how to uninstall stuff through start, settings, control panel, add/remove programs but Chuck said it was a long process so I figured that it wouldn't take it all off. I 've tried to uninstall other stuff the same way and sometimes it leaves a few files behind to prevent me from installing or completely uninstalling the program (games).

There is something that my brother typed in under find and it was like ag121 or something wierd like that, it brought up a list and I found what I needed to delete in order to reinstall the game but I can't remember what exactly he typed in, maybe that could work.
