Wow, I haven't seen a slot car track since before I can remember. I was really into that when I was younger (in the '60s). Is that still going on, or are they vintage stuff from back then? If it's been going all this time, the cars must fly!

I was at one point. Still have all the stuff in storage. I have a giant Carrera set with a good bit of track.

Yeah,it is actually going pretty strong in some parts.
I think the 32nd. scale has the best to offer.that carrera
track they say is really the best to get unless you're a woody.
that is wood tracks are the very best, but the carrera is next.
i have a ton of Artin 32nd. track set up in my basement.
It is 4 lanes and on 4x20 feet of road course.
I race with my son now and then, but not like I use to.
back in 98-99 I had a Hobby Shop uptown and had 4 ho scale
tracks in there including a 55 foot Drag Strip that was the most
fun you can imagine.
Here is a 32nd. scale slot built by a racer from another of my forums.
I'll post some of my slots soon as I get them loaded to my bucket.

I use to Love this stuff, but kinda dry now...I can feel the urge to
grab a controller and let it rip right now.lol

I scratchbuild alot of 32nd. cars...I just like the heavy brass chassis over
magnets to keep em on the track.
Here is a picture of the next car I plan on building.

here is a few of my tracks.
These 2 cars I built to Drag Race at a Strip in a friends basement.
It was like going to the drag strip. We waited in line for our turn, etc.
It was a blast, they still race every saturday night during season.

That's some amazing stuff! I used to be a big fanatic of Aurora cars and had tons of track etc.

Not quite the same,I know but I still miss those simpler times.

Outstanding JD!

My Dad had one of those Aurora sets in the 60's, at about age 4 I couldn't keep the cars on the track from the lack of coordination with the controller, I just squeezed the button down and wipe out city. I liked the white mustang, other was a (Chapparell?).

I have a photo of the last surviving model that I built...

There were mainly airplanes and tanks.
My favorites being twin engine prop planes. The Lockheed Hudson being my favorite.

We built a WW2 European theater air battle from my friend's ceiling. Used different scales to simulate depth, tissue and paint for smoke and fishing line with dayglo dots for tracer rounds. Probably 20 planes hanging from his bedroom ceiling.

We had Aurora HO cars as kids in the 60-70s.
Big basement, a couple of us would get together will all of our track and built some monster tracks and drag strips.
Still have them packed away in the garage... last time I looked the little metal clips and bars that held the track sections together were missing :(

Thanx.
Email replied to...
Those are some fantastic cars.
I went thru the thread kinda quick at lunch and thought a couple were the real deal

RC cars for me. The advances they make are crazy fast, making a return in the hobby fun if and when I decide to go back.
