Don't see a lot of these posted. This is the only one that I have. It's a custom that my wife bought me. Unfortunately, she didn't get any info on it. I don't know exactly what kind of steel it is or who in the world made it. Some local here in the North Georgia Mountains. But, it does sharpen scary and cuts through stuff like butter. Tomorrow it will ride in my back pocket for the day. Need to carry this one more. I'll post some better pics of it tomorrow in some natural light. It's about 5 1/2" closed. Let's see some of your friction folders.

I posted this one earlier. Made by French knifemaker Mathieu Callejon.
It's the only one i've got, but i really like it, so it won't be my last...

I've been in awe of Daniel Winkler's friction folders for a number of years. I have yet to own one though hopefully that will change in the near future.

Here's a few pics from Daniel's site and one from Nordic's site:

The carbon blade model really speaks to me. One day!

Well now folks, those are some really fine Friction Folders!. Fantastic thread thus far. I am really enjoying viewing all your Friction Folders here.

You have just got to love the designs of yesteryear. These fine cutters sure do epitomize the worlds first traditional folding slipjoint one-handed opener. .

Here is a custom forged friction folder by Mike Wilson dressed in stag with a hollow ground O-1 carbon steel blade with an antiqued stippling finish..

And another one of Mike's with a Damascus blade..

Zeppos, does Mathieu Callejon have a web site? Thanks.

I don't think he has his own website, but on this (French) site

http://perche-web.over-blog.com/article-13647121.html

you can see some of his work. At the bottom of the site you can find his email address. I thinks he understands English, so if you want to ask him questions or order something, that should be possible.

(according to the website he also does blacksmithing workshops)

I've only got one, that I made last summer. its 1/8" O-1 about 5" blade, cocobolo handle and a red mulberry wood back spacer.
