How come we rarely see any FSH'S? If you Hogs and Pigs got some lets see them. User's are fine too, what do you guys think of them?

There can only be the one!

Nice Fsh Guyon that's some good look'in leather also. I was wondering why you don't see more interest and guys using fsh's more around here. And what they mainly use them for. Thanks for the photos,

this is from a little while back, a few of these are gone and some more have been acquired

Jeez fbusmc I'd have to say your a bonafide Fsh freak. Nice looking collection and great photo's, Now I've gotta go back and check them out somemore. Thanks Bro,

Yep, love the FSHs, when I first got back into Busse, I was so into getting a FSH, cause I didn't think Jerry was making them any more, I traded an original A2 Meaner street and Badger attack even to the Blue handle and green handle HOFSHs at the bottom. I think this is Jerry's flag ship model. It's on his blades :-)

For my uses, the FSH is in sort of a no man's land. Most variants are pretty thick, so they are heavy for carry. They also have a very broad blade, which further adds to the weight. It chops really really well for a blade that's only 8 inches long, but if I wanted to carry a dedicated chopper, I would carry something larger. I also don't care for the Fusion handles, and they have a lot of hotspots for me during use.

That said, it is a giant chunk of INFI for the length, and it evokes a real sense of power when you've got it in your hand. The FSH is a beast of a knife, but I am much more likely to carry my NMSFNO if I want an 8" blade - or even better, a SAR8, if I can ever get one at a price I agree with.

I think I like that red and black in the top row far right, and the third from right in the bottom row green and black. Very Cool Imho. But the rest of the bunch are no slouches either.

I'm pretty much with Mustard Man on this one. I had a HH at one time as well as a couple of different thickness' of the SHSH's. Great knives, but both left me wanting a FBM of some flavor. Although, the standard .25 FSH with standard scales is one I haven't tried yet, but felt awesome when I handled it.

Nice smooth bolt MM, So you'd like it better if it had the NMSFNO handles on it I take it.

Yeah a change to the handles would be very welcome - even a fatter version of the BWBM handles would work OK, but that severe downward hook at the rear talon hole is just not comfortable. There's a reason they call it "Busse Pinky" - so many Busse models have something at the butt end that crushes your pinky finger when you get to choppin with it.

Sadly, I don't have that smooth bolt any more, but it was beautiful. I preferred the feel of the full flat version, though - the saber ground was even more blade heavy, and more of a dedicated chopper. I generally don't like saber grinds on knives this size - I feel they tend to bind up more during batoning (harsh corner at the transition to the saber grind), and if they are coated you get a lot more wear at that saber line. If you're going to go for a FSH, full flat all the way in my opinion!

Sounds good, seems like you've had alot of experience with chopping and different knife grinds. So I'm sure you would know. Thanks MM,

Heres a very old pic of my trio, Two standard FSH's and one HO FSH.

Someone else has to have some user FSH pictures... safe queens are pretty and all, but I want to see them getting pounded through some firewood :D

Here's a couple more FSH's & FSH-v's in various thicknesses & combos... :)

My user... as she was when I got her from Walter.
These are his pics, but she's a little more worn these days. ;)

Standard FSH with a slightly full convexed blade.

But really... it didn't take me that long to figure out I was a Mistress kinda guy. :D
If you go with the mistress... there is less of a need to grip further back on the handle causing the "pinky Pinch". ;)

Go Big, or Go Home! :p
