It's finally starting to resemble what I consider comfy hiking weather here in the South. Was just looking at pitdog and Mentor's threads, and wondering why there weren't more this time of year.
I'll probably be on the injured/inactive list for a couple weeks, and it's driving me crazy this last week doing nothing but go to work, and sit around the house.
Throw in a few pics of your recent outings for me to live vicariously through!
I put these first four(oop, first six) in the sticky up top, but here's some of the last ones I've got--already been two weeks
A few more:
Worm snake(?). Even though it warmed up, I thought it was pretty cool for snakes, having gotten below freezing the night before. He seemed happy to be picked up and have something warm to curl up on. We'd been talking about copperheads, and must have subconsciously been watching the trail really carefully to see him in the leaves.
On the last day, we crossed several creeks that were flowing in spite of the recent drought, though many smaller ones were dry.
Due to the constant ups and downs, and steep areas, there were quite a few deadfalls, as well.
