I've been looking for a nice flipper with a wharnie/sheepsfoot/lambsfoot shape. Then I started thinking about grinding down one of my (already too numerous) collection - anyone done this?

If you're grinding down a blade with any belly into a wharnie etc., the length of the blade is going to drastically shrink - I've thought about buying a larger size Opinel and grinding it into a coping blade and then shortening and reshaping the handle to match, so I end up with something the size of a No.8, but since the handle obviously has a slit in it for the blade, the butt wouldn't be solid. I might try it still just for kicks.

Converted this Grayman DUA to a sheepsfoot hollow grind, the blade shape was conducive to it so it only lost about 1/4"

Actually I've been goin nuts recently modding knives to make mini sheepsfoot/wharnie-ish versions. I tend to like 3" blades with that blade shape, so most of my 3"+ blades that I haven't been using much have hit the chopping block. Handles are chopped to fit too. So far here's the hitlist:
Spyderco Southard
Spyderco Domino
Spyderco Paramilitary2
CRKT Jettison Lrg.
