The next Buck purchase for me will be a 900 series bowie.
I know the 916 is probably the most produced model but I want to see what others have been made.
Please show and ID yours and help me make an informed decision, thanks.
I do have several nice 124s so I'm wanting the 'next step up'.

905 Mountain Man from the custom shop.
Nice one, thanks

909 Mountain Bowie
903 Special Bowie
904 Sub Hilt Bowie
Thanks John, I like the shape of that 909
I only have 2 916s...no other 900s..

one was special limited run.

other is Buckeye burlwood
Thanks Jesse. Their like brothers from another mother. Strange that there would be that much difference in two 916s. I have read the rap on the 916 is the handle but that 'special solves it.

Here is another set of Bowie photos for you Preston. I hope everyone with any of the 900 series Bowies puts up some photos as I do like them all!

These are some of the HD LE Bowies, 909's, 903's, 907. I know you don't care for the Tattooed blades, but these are all large knives as you can see here.

Some more 905 Mountain Man Bowies, slab vs crown handles, grind lines (square vs curved), Guard shape

Thanks for those great photos John. Many nice Bowies to peruse and contemplate. I'm flattered that you remember preference for a plain blade. I know that it will make the search even more difficult once I decide on the model.

I did go to the BCCI site and looked at the 'Model History' page for 900 series. I had no idea that there were so many 900 series. Not all bowies, they make up only a small portion of the mix. Makes for some good search, discover, read and look at pictures.

They didn't have the 908 listed and I know I have seen that model, has the blade similar to the Buckmaster.

Here are the 900 series knives I have pictures of. I will try to get pics of the others in the next week if I can.
Leaving for Colorado elk hunting for 10 days or so after that so if I can't get them before I leave I will get them when I get back.

Thanks James, awesome start, look forward to seeing what else you post!
That's what I mean, by there are so many more knives in the 900 series than just bowies.

That's because I had the model number one diget off. It's a 907 85th HD there were 2 separate issues this one in wood, and a later Ultra issue in Mastodon.

The 908 is the 50th HD Black Hills there were also 2 issues one with wood, and a later Ultra issue with gold plated blade and Peral handle. This photo is a blade that Leroy put the Mirror polished Buckmaster handle on for me. This knife blade is the same blade as the Buckmaster just no saw teeth.

This knife is the same blade as the Buckmaster.
Thanks John, I can see the difference in the two blades. The 85th HD 907 blade looks great but the blade and handle proportions look a bit off...maybe it's the camera angle.

Beautiful knives guys, thanks for posting.

But,, where do you buy these special kind of Buck's ?

Do you order them somewhere ?
