I haven't seen many coffin jacks around. Maybe some of you collectors out there can post pictures of yours? Also, anyone who has any historical info on these, I'd love to see it. Is it an old or new pattern?

It might seem a bit morbid, but I'd love to have a 3 3/4" - 4" coffin jack with a skull or skull & cross bone shield. That would certainly be fitting for such a pattern.

Anyway, if you have one, please post a picture of it here.

Thanks!

I think Evan/Esynx has made one with "crossbones" shield emblazoned.

Here's my Reese Bose Coffin Jack.
Reese uses Tony's version of a mid 1800's George Wostenholm IXL Sheffiled pattern "Coffin Jack".
This one sports Remington Jigged Bone.

I only have two but I like them both very much. The first is a Black Box Winchester. Second is one of the new Utica's.

Affordable coffins jacks are rare, mine is the same pair. I like them both.

Tim, that knife is absolutely gorgeous! Thanks for sharing!

Anytime Steve. I agree with Jolipapa, affordable coffin jacks are rare but I think the Winchester is the best choice. Hopefully GEC starts their own coffin jack somewher down the road.

Tim - Every time I see your Bose, I am amazed at the flawless lines and the craftsmanship that Reese built into this knife. Outstanding sums it up!:thumbup:

+1 for GEC, or the 2017 forum knife ? sorry, could not prevent! :D
The Kutmaster exists in several guises this the brown Catskill, the spey blade has some play, not a great issue nevertheless, a great tool.

They seem rare for some reason, is it the complexity of construction? Usually custom or the Case/Bose Collabs.

Kind of surprising this rarity aspect as they appear to be a much talked about and approved of pattern. GEC could do an interesting version but I suspect it would have to be SFO funded, then RR could surprise us with a cheapie but goodie who knows?

What I particularlly like about the R.Bose interpretation is that he was bold enough to opt for Barehead construction, quite a challenge in itself given that faceted end and springs/liners. Very impressive and as I always prefer Barehead knives to capped ones...it just looks right:D:D

Thanks, Will
