Hey guys...I just got this custom sheath for my Sebenza from Vadim (Vess Leatherworks) He did a great job on it! I wanted to go with a black and white theme to kind of match the micarta on the sebenza, so I had him do a black sheath with white stitching...an owl hand done in the middle of a circle on the sheath (the owl is to remember my grandfather, who recently passed, he loved owls) and a rayskin insert that wraps around the owl and up the side, the rayskin is snaded down to give it a certain look and texture, it is horizontal carry, I love the fact that I cna use this sheath with the pocket clip on this way while Im using the knife I can clip it to my pocket while not in use if I so wish, then back in the sheath when I am competely done...Its excactly what I wanted and Vadim did a great job on it!

I would like everyone to share a picture or pictures of their sheaths in this thread, custom or not, post your favorite sheath...just a general sheath thread, lol...somethgin I ahve not seen in a long time on the forums...

Great looking sheath CL. Love Vess's work. Got this one last year. His hand work is second to none. Hand painted this one is. I use it quite often and it still looks brand new. I'm hoping to order another soon. I really like the rayskin theme!

I have neither the knives nor the sheaths anymore, but the sheaths were very nice!

Thanks for the compliments guys, yeah Vess does nice work, If I get another sebenza anytime soon I will get a large classic and I will need to comtact him again for another sheath, lol...

Nice sheaths too guys! And Blackend, also very classy looking combo, sheath matches the knife, thats what I was trying to go for here...and I am happy with it...
 
I use a simple multi pos. sheath from tad gear. I have used it for 7 or 8 years now with my Sebs. It rides flat on the hip due to the velcro flap. It also lashes nice to a vest.
 
Way before I had a sebenza I did not wear a shetah often for a knife, mostly because I kept a zippo in a nylon sheath/case on ym belt, and I didn't want multiple thgins on me...When I did not carry the zippo, I would have my Leatherman wave on my belt...but there were times when I did not have either and I just used a knife for my belt, and when I did I used a Blackie Collins belt sheath, it was the best sheath I ever owned...It was extremely comfortable, it had horizontal and verticle carry options and it fit almost all of my knives...If I get a chance I will post a picture...
 
I live in part of Michigan that allows me to carry my full size Sebenza most of the time. The one pictured is actually being replaced later this week with a limited 07' bark ivory version w/Damascus that I've had on order for a while. Anyhow, most of the time when the knife is in the sheath(even though it's very secure) I have a lanyard attached from the knife to one of my belt loops. One of those just incase situations. Like CL said, I too like the option of, when using it, to just put it in my pocket instead of the sheath for quicker re-deployment.

Sure would like to see some more sheaths out there that you guys are using.

Heres a few pictures that Vadim Vess sent me tonight of the sheath I asked him to make for my Tomcat 3. I really am glad I decided on the rattlesnake skin insert, it contrasts great against the black leather.

Great protection & security is provided by the flap & snap.
Sebenza is the Flat Ground.

Based upon this sheath, I just ordered two from Vadim for my small and large LE Sebs. I will post pictures next week when they arrive.

Vadim made me a nice horizontal carry sheath, with an opening in the bottom to push out the knife. Excellent work! (use without clip)

Nice option, I hadn't thought of this type. Reminds me of a Nokia pouch I used to use for a phone.
