I apologize if there is already a thread devoted this topic but I couldn't find anything through searching. I know there is the "What did your SAK do today?" thread but I'm looking solely for used/well loved/beat up SAKs. If you guys like this idea please post any pics of you users!

Here's my Vic Standard (Same as the Spartan but older and doesn't have tweezers/toothpick) The tip was broken off and bent so I ground it down into a more useful (To me) blade shape.

My wife carried this blue Classic on her keyring for years, until I recently replaced it with a new translucent blue one. I guess she dropped her keys a few too many times!

My 25+ year old Fieldmaster with cracked and broken cellidor handles.

Made fresh with new nylon handles.

An old green Classic I have kept on an office keyring for many years, alongside my wife's new keyring Classic

Those are some nice ones, Doug! The green Classic is my favorite. Looks like it's been around the world.

I didn't know you can get replacement handles, that's pretty cool. Looks like they have a bit more grip than the stock ones, too.

Thank you Will. The nylon handles are a bit gripper than the cellidor. Except for a Huntsman and the Classic size knives, all my Vics are now shod in nylon.

Yeah, the green Classic has seen a lot of action! I don't remember when I got it, but it is likely I have carried it longer than the Fieldmaster, which I bought in 1986 or 1987.

Most of mine are fairly new and don't have much wear on them. the executive on the left though has loose scales from use.

My keychain ones

Scratches on my newest, the compact. There are plenty more but you need different lighting. I didn't feel like taking 10 pics just of scratches

I've refinished the executive here before. No more mirror polish. It got too scratched to I convexed it and left some heavy scratch pattern to it. Needs redone by now, but I like that look.

I've had the Huntsman since the late 70s/early 80s. I got a Buck Wegner a couple of decades later after the spring broke on the scissors of the Huntsman and I broke the tip off of the pen blade. Finally, repaired the scissors and reground the pen blade. I am now using the Huntsman as my edc again.

Yeah, I've had the scales pop off from dropping my keys too. Seems to be a common problem with the Classic and it's variants. You can actually get new scales to replace the old ones (as long as he metal underneath isn't bent too badly).

I would caution you that clear plastics (of any kind) tend to crack more easily than opaque ones do. So your wife's new one may not last as long if she keeps dropping her keys. :p

Personally, I avoid the transparent handles for SAKs that might see rough usage (camping, keychain duty, EDC carry), though they're nice for something that will stay in the home or office. While the transparent scales look very pretty, the longevity and ruggedness of the opaque handles is more important to me.

Of course, your priorities may differ from my own. ;)

I don't have a picture since I repaired the knife - but you'al should see what bug repellant will do to the celluloid scales! and the 84mm tinker scales are not always easy to find!
good luck

I found this beat up and crusty Mountaineer Original at a second-hand store for 5 bucks.
Cleaned it up really well and put on some new scales and now it's looking pretty good.

My saks just keep looking good... this is the worst looking specimen I have (about 30 years old)
