What does "Mountain Man" mean??? Well, whatever you want it to. Personally it envisions in me something Charlton Heston and Brian Kieth might have had in the movie. I am sure there would be many that put mine to shame, but I will start this off. Here is my humble submission;
Still in progress. Started life as a Green River Ripper and I put a bone handle on it. My rivets were a bit too big and cracked the handle, so after being disgusted and contemplating scrapping the project and starting over, I decided to just accentuate the cracks and make it an honest user. SO, now you can critique my mess!!!
The sheath and handle material come from PetsMart!! Soaked a rawhide chew toy and made the neck sheath. Antler buttons and beads are home made. Need to make about 10 more of the horse hair bobbles to go on it. Stained the bone handle with walnut husk stain from the tree in my front yard. Patina on the blade is mustard. Anyhow, really enjoyed this project. She is hair poppin' sharp!! Have several more Green River blades to play with. Need to get the kinks out of the leather (well, get it in the field and sweat on it a while as I am carrying/using it!!).
Another submission from a few years ago;
This was just a bit dressed up Old Hickory.
And the one that got me started with all this, my MLKnives scalper;
That's my favorite!!!
