Hey all.
I never thought this day would come, but I am starting to lose track of my knives :eek:
I plan on purchasing or building a knife case. I know there are some people out there with some good designs. Any pics would be very helpful.

I have a design in my head, but for now everything's in a steamer trunk. I too would be interested in seeing what others have made to store/display their knives.

My design is a large full-height cabinet. The top would swing open with a large area behind glass for displaying knives in display cases. The inside of the doors would be slim shelves behind glass. The midsection of the cabinet would be grass-top drawers for laying knives flat. The lower section would be storage for boxes, sheaths, etc.

Sorry, no pics yet. It's only in my mind.

I use one of the inexpensive eight-drawer wooden "tool chests" that Cabela's sells (check the website at www.cabelas.com) for all but my most valuable knives. Those I keep in my gunsafe.
 
8 drawer locking toolbox... each drawer locks independantly, but has a single key on the top.

empty, it's about 150lbs.
