Hi, all,

I recently ordered a Thermite Versipack from TAD which should be here any day now along with a Baby Condor. Please post pics of your packs(versi or backpacks) loaded or unloaded. The anticipation is killing me and this will feed my gear hunger just fine :D . Thanks for your time!

I hope that you do get your stuff any day. I have had a Pug and Rat wallet in black on back order with TAD since Jan. And, I also ordered a Black Thermite Versipack from TAD on Mar. 3rd which is also on back order. :mad:

Here's the word from Maxpedition, "We expect to start shipping them next week. If all goes well, TAD may have them by Friday, Apr. 2nd." So hopefully I'll have my items by Monday or Tuesday($9.00 2nd day air :D). Yes, the waiting DOES suck :grumpy: .
 
I got my fatboy from Maxpedition along with a Prodius pack. I didn't go through TAD cause they didn't have them in stock. The guys at Maxpedition were great, aparently i got the last OD fatboy from them, they said that they had a hudge surge on the versi and the fatboy all of a sudden. Im guessing it had something to do w/ this forum.
 
I don't have a pic of my Fatboy but it looks just like every other OD one out there :).
Not including what's in my pockets, today my Fatboy consists of:
-Small hardcover sketchbook from Waldenbooks (fits perfect in the big zippered pocket that runs along the back)
-Dragon Box sunglasses
-Leatherman Micra
-Leatherman Juice CS4
-Replaced the zipper pull on rear pocket with 3 feet of paracord tied up into a zipper pull.
-Kleenex tissues
-Altoid Tin First Aid Kit
-Contact lens case/ small bottle of solution
-Chapstick
-2 Bic Lighters
-Dorcy AAA LED flasslight from Wal-mart
-Princeton-Tec Pulsar 2 is keychained onto the drawstring of the main compartmentwith a small piece of tape covering the on/off switch.
-2 Zip Disks for computer work
-Altoids (once this one is empty it will become a PSK)
-10 or so various pens/ pencils/ markers + extra lead/ erasers
-Mead Five Star little notebook
-Turkey and Swiss sandwich and a small bag of potato chips :D

I plan on wrapping a few feet of OD Green Milspec Paracord around the front of the shoulder strap just to add a little more padding and for an easy way to carry more cord :)
 
If it's any consolation I just got a HUGE shipment from Maxpedition. Man did I get a ton (almost literally!) of neat stuff!! Got Thermites, Rolly-polly's in all sizes, M-1's, M-2, the New M-5's and H-1, Falcon backpacks, RAT Wallets....and the new Silver Gun Carry Case's!! Those cases are very nice, BTW.
 
any pics of khaki maxpedition gear? i would like to get a fatboy in khaki for the summer but would like a pic of one in use. pics on the net seem inconsistent, some make the khaki look white, others really dark. would like to see some pics here for reference. actually, as the original post called for, any gear pics would be appreciated!

Today is your lucky day. I have a Khaki fatboy, it works great. Here is a shot next to some very light colored khaki pants. IMHO the color is just right, not too dark, not too white.

I have the black Fatboy and a PUG wallet. I don't use the PUG too much as it is quite frankly HUGE. I do keep it in my Fatboy as a back up. It is usually full of first aid supplies, extra cash, and a small folder or two. Here's what I usually carry:
-car/house keys
-PUG Wallet
-Filson twill Packer wallet
-Dorcy AAA LED
-Surefire G2
-Spyderco Paramilitary
-SAK Sportsman
-Reeve Small Sebenza
-Pager
-Chapstick
-Coach business card holder
-Coach coin purse or a Chawley Changer
-Palm Tungsten
-usually a small paperback
-Fisher pen and notebook
-Cellphone by Eriksson

That about fills it to the max. When I use my Filson small field back, I also add a 32 oz Nalgene to the mix.

Thanks so much, Rorschach, for the quick response! unfortunately, i was hoping it would be a bit darker than that. from my comp, it almost looks white. if the whole thing was the same color as the strap and the stitching, it would be absolutely perfect for me. i ordered one anyway, hoping that your pic is overexposed and my monitor is set too bright. thanks again for the pic.

You're right, the shot is overexposed due to the flash, sorry bout that. It's not as white now that I look at the pic. I think you'll like the Khaki, for me is was a good change from the usual black.
 
Thank you SO much for the khaki pic! I've also been thinking about getting one that looks "less tactical", and was disappointed in the lack of good photos on ordering sites. The OD is also tempting, as it might be less murse-ish. :D
