what are you using zippo? I'm still torn between edge pro and wicked edge. I'd get the WE, but I think the clamp might be funky for FFG blades.

Hi Bud,
I was wondering, does anyone use stropping paste, and will it give You a shiny supersharp edge that we are looking for?
Also, where can I get some, i would like to try some in lieu of compound, if that is the right thing to do! keep up the great work Bud!
Respectfully,
Charlie

I have a few also, but I have shared the photos before...I hesitate to post them again...awww, what the heck?

I took these all the way to the spine;)

Gorgeous pics guys!
LOVE eyeing a Mirror Polish! :D

I used the Edge Pro Apex 4 to achieve the edge pictured.
Best rig to get if you don't like sharpening, but want the mirror polished edges.

As far as stropping I just use my natural leather strops. I would like to start using some sort of paste or spray, but have yet to indulge myself with the knowledge of what to use. The Edge Pro comes with 2 polishing tapes that are 1000 and 2000 grit, which is finer than many compounds for strops. Have to look into specifics if you want a tighter edge than what the EP already produces.

Easy. Buy a bottle of 1 Micron Hand American diamond spray. If you want to get OCD pick up 1/2 Micron at the same time and save on shipping. Put it on a nice hard piece of leather on wood backing. You will be amazed and its one of the best purchases I have made for sharpening.

That's exactly the stuff I was referred to long ago, but never pursued. I have 2 strops [leather on wood backing] made by Mr2Blue.
Thanks for the info. :)

Those are the same strops I use for my 1 and 0.5 micron spray. The system works great for me and I think you would be pleasantly surprised, especially on the newer 'super' steels. I tried green CrO and it just didn't do anything for the high carbide steels in my experience.

Some lovely edge-polishing in the pics so far; mine aren't as nice as those but here they are anyway!
