Let's see your recluse!

I've had what some would consider an epiphany about the recluse in that when I had initially gotten into Andy's knives, it was my least favorite profile... it just didn't click for me. Flash forward some time, and I've now been through two recluses; one of which I still have -- bottom line, it is a really awesome, (sometimes) under appreciated design! With that being said, I'm curious to see who else out there feels similarly about the design and how often / to what purpose their recluse is used. As always (as internet memes go), this thread will be useless without pics -- so here's mine; let's see yours!

- Recluse 1/8"SFT White Linen micarta (sanded for grippiness!) over natural canvas, with a blue pinstripe.

I love the Recluse. I regret every Recluse I've ever sold. In fact I recently traded a camp knife for cash and a Recluse that I sold and wanted back. I'll post pics when it gets back in my paws.

I'll bet you you can't guess what kind of scales it was rocking.

The Recluse: one of many on my list of I don't have yet and need to find one.

5/32" S35VN stabilized dyed curly Maple. I use it for most knife uses and I haven't found anything it isn't pretty good at yet. Thin tip, bit of belly and ground pretty high and thin.

Great general purpose design. Together with 2 of my other 4" Fiddleback favorites in S35VN

Probably my most used Fiddleback. I think this design is very versatile and with the thinner stock, it's a real joy to use.

3/32" tapered

I need to quit reading this thread before I buy a recluse before the budget (i.e. the wife) says I can. Those are some mighty fine looking knives.

I was just coming out of post op rehab on this FBF.. I wanted this knife in a bad way, but good on ya Mick as this is the nicest recluse (IMO) Andy has ever made.

I was thinking along the same lines. I remember that one. Maybe the prettiest one I've seen. Thanks for sharing her again.

Thanks mate, it is a real gem and I couldn't believe my luck on that particular FBF to pick it up and if I remember correctly there was a beautiful Burl Recluse Model left which I think Mist may have snagged at the time.
The Recluse to me just sits so well in my hand it would surely have to be one of my favorites.
:)
