My three DIY chain lanyards.
Finished them today, when the snap swivels finally arrived. 😷👍
Ingredients:
(3) Repurposed 32 inch hanging potted plant/Chalkboard/Blackboard/Whiteboard chain. (12# capacity per chain with included S hooks*)
(I went with 32" chain because it's longer than my reach. I don't have to take the SAK or Multitool off when I use it.)

(6) Repurposed 100 pound test saltwater ballbearing snap swivels.
Under $10 total.

Anchor point: A Nite-Ize belt loop key ring I've had for around 10 ... maybe 12 years.

(* The S Hooks that came with the chain were discarded.)

Lets see the lanyards you use to help prevent the loss/damage of/to your tools. 😷👍

I always carry, classic or escort with keys. Stainless chain or a custom paracord.
I switched out the clips for nitize carbiners, easy to clip on belt loop or vest button hole. I use a little s-biner for classic t take it off. These days most of my saks or traditional folders are carried in an organiser made by Dan sonofwilfred sonofwilfred

I tend to carry my EDC SAK suspended from a pocket clip via a tiny carabiner. But I also alternate between this system and adolescent paracord lanyard. The lanyard gets annoying when I use the large flat driver because it tends to wrap itself around the knife body. That’s why I also have the lanyard attached to the keychain via a mini carabiner, so I can remove it quickly. D3389E28-DC7D-4231-9E51-905D415DAD41.jpeg

Swivels at each end help a lot there. 😷👍
The high(?) medium(?) test saltwater fishing snap swivels I used were under $5 for ten of them. I chose them because they aren't as bulky or heavy as lobster clasps - and cost less.
I might put the last two on a pocket watch chain, if I ever get another pocket watch.

Not sure why I said “adolescent” lanyard. Phone must’ve autocorrected, but I can’t even remember what I meant to type.

This seems like a somewhat useless lanyard, as you can't really hook it to anything. But I was just learning how to tie that knot, so I left it there. Doesn't really matter, as these two stay in the closet, anyway. Both were issued to me in the Navy, many years ago.
