I am looking to get my first Emerson and Im curious to see what they look like after use.

A well used CQC-15

I really like the looks of that! The coating on the blade looks really cool all worn like that.

I have the same CQC-15 (plain edge) but I only have the first inch of the tip worn out from prying stuff.
What has caused the wear on yours OP?
Looking forward to a good thread.

Yessir, and a krein'd/carbon fiber 8, a well used 10, a Super Roadhouse, Super Kbit, and UBR Commander. The UBR is the only one that doesn't get used, but none of the other ones have near the wear of my 15.

A few weeks ago, I thought I saw a pic from cncpro11 of his used Commander that just speaks, "take a lickin' and keeps on tickin'."

Thanks! I use it as my dedicated work edc, but here is my little guy putting it to good use...

Dang that is one sweet edge on your Commander cncpro11. May I ask what method you use and angle? I usually use the sharp maker at 20 and can get mine adequately sharp but not screaming sharp like it came from Ernie.

Thank you very much for noticing!
I use a diamond Lansky system because I suck at freehand sharpening.
Set my angle to 25 degrees (50 included) and go down to an ultra fine ceramic stone then finish with green compound on a leather strop.
For whatever reason, Emerson's 154cm seems to agree with me, and I can achieve and maintain a razor sharp polished edge very easily.

Thanks.
Once I get consistent and better fine tuned I'll invest in some ultra fine rods.

That knife looks awesome cncpro. I just ordered a micro commander so hopefully I can add some pics of it sometime in the future.

Haven't thought about it or had all my EKI's in one place to look at, but as of now I have a well used black-combo 10, a fairly new stonewash-straight 10, well used black-straight Kreined 11, lightly used black-straight Commander, brand new stonewash-straight Super Commander, brand new black-straight 15, brand new stonewash-straight Horseman, lightly used stonewash-straight Journeyman, and a lightly used stonewash-straight Roadhouse.

I haven't used any of my black-bladed Emersons, now that I think about it. I usually carry my 10, and sometimes the 7V, Journeyman, or Persian, and the satin/stonewashed blades don't show much wear at all.

I would show you my well used Commander but it went to the spa a few months ago and came back working like new.
