i'v seen a thread for just about everything here, but we dont have a story thread, i'd start with one but i only have one good story. and i already told it. well, like the title says, if you'd like to share a story or ask about something, this'd be the thread
 
yeah, like, "30 years ago" kinda stories, or places not many people know about. like finding an old growth grove on the east coast or getting to fell a really unique tree. or just bits of experience you'v snatched along the way
 
If you have to axe, then you really don't deserve to know.
 
35 years ago a young man was heating his house in the winter with pallets. He used a boys axe to bust them up. One day his girl friend was watching him bust pallets when a pallet shattered and sent a piece flying up at the young man and striking him in the head. The girl friend became his wife and for years told the story of the man "hitting himself in the head with an axe".

If only I could recall the name of that young man........
