Lets try to liven things up a bit and show off our knives. The theme is "Cool camp knife combos with a SOG flare" (SOGs and other knives you take camping). Pics and a description of how you use and wear your knife while camping or durring an outdoor excursion is prefered.;) (I'd love to see how you all use your knievs) If you need help posting pics, email me and I'd be glad to help.;)

I'll start off:

H.I. 16.5" WWII model: Used inplace of a Bowie knife/hatchet. It excels at chopping, trail clearing cutting bone and other heavy work. Normally worn on a Baldric type setup, cross draw.

SOG Government: Worn drop leg strong side; used as my main camp knife. In the kitchen, making tinder, and general knife use.

BUCK 110 Folding Hunter and SOG X-42 Autoclip: Do to it's deep hollow grinds, and clip point the Buck 110 works great as a hunting knife for skinning, cutting food and whittling. worn on my belt cross draw, or on my Webbed belt. The X-42 Autoclip is worn in my right pocket and used when ever the Government is to big. Holds an edge forever and cuts veggies almost as well as the Buck.

Leatherman Mini (Multitool): This little multitool has a 1" blade, bottle opener, can opening, file and small neddle nose plyers. Not only that, it doesn't weigh much or take up a lot of run but is always there when I need it.

Sometimes I substitute the Buck 110 for a H.I. Durba dagger (knife similer to the WWII Shark knife with a Himalayan flare).

Now it's your turn guys, and have some fun:)

P.S. I'll post my pics in the next few days. Camera problems.:(

Wildmanh, Very good pics, I especially like the REVOLVER sheath, one question, how did you stitch that close in leather, did you use a machine ? I like the red on the auto clip, not too easy to lose in the woods, but I am really dissapointed to see that you have hit so many stumps with that big "bowie", you have bent the blade so bad, I don't know if it can ever be straightened out. :p ;)

The Seal Pup and the Tigershark makes a good "camp knife pair".

Indeed they do !!!

I have to settle for the Tigershark and the SOG Bowie.... or the SEAL 2000..... OK, maybe the Tech II once in a while. But just as long as the companion knife to the Tigershark is a SOG !!

Cheers,

Carl

Robbie, The holes in the sheath were hand drilled by me. I just eyeballed where I thought each hole should go. It turned out okay for one of my first 5 sheaths. Glad you like it. It rides well and holds the revolver inplace rather well. You should see the sheath I made for my Tsunami. It turned out even better.:) (I used better tools on my last sheath and it shows)

You should really get your self a Khukuri man. Bent knives are the way to go.;) :D Yep the Red AutoClip is Sweet. I carry it when ever I'm not at work. A lot of times people that are not into knives like it a lot.

Wildmanh, I think you are too good for your own britches !:D I can never get my sheaths to come out like that.:grumpy: , So when I did a sheath, I cheated and drilled holes and bought those hammer in rivets, I would never have the patience to sew or stitch in leather. I don't mess with them much any more since I got one of the most painful cuts I ever had, while doing one, stupid me was trying to cut leather with a sharp knife and cut throught the leather and cut the end of my finger off to the nail, from bottom side up, about a quarter inch on the finger, it grew back but I have no feeling in the tip of my finger now.
I like the looks of that bent knife, but have no experience in how they cut. I am sure they are fine knives.;)
