Recently scored a Spyderco Para 2 and I'd like to subdue the shine on my pocket clip for a lower profile carry. It was suggested on another forum that 320 grit sandpaper would do the job but I'm wondering if there are any other suggested or preferred methods out there. Would love to see some pics of your clips with the shine dialed down :) .

Quick iPhone shots of my new Para 2:

I flame treated my Manix 2 and Manix 2 XL on the center of the burner on our gas stove. I put both ends directly in the flame. I've ft 4 clips so far. I Don't

like shiny clips.

Do you have photos clock? Would like to see that...

You could always give Golden a call and get a black clip for like $7. They even send new black screws and a small bottle of lock tite with it.

I used some ferric acid to "etch" the clip then stone washed it. Turned out great, and it blends in to jeans quite well.

Wow, that looks GREAT. Exactly the kind of thing I'm going for! Can you describe in more detail the process you used to achieve that effect?

I considered that but I figure the black will wear off eventually :( . Might be ok for awhile though.
