I just purchased A Lum Chinese knife with Nishijin handle scales, It's on the way and I'm fairly happy with my deal, A UKPK the other week in maroon FRN, for some reason I just really like the look of Spyderco knives. I would submit a picture but I have none, my fascination with knives is fairly new and I just like to learn about them. What have you bought recently? Or plan to buy, maybe that dream knife that costs an arm and a leg but you know you'll get it some day. How and when did you first get interested in knives? You can just pick any one question or answer one I didn't think of. I'm bored so, Let's talk about knives? :foot:

Sounds good to me :D.

Recently I bought an ESEE Izula and a Spyderco Military. I'd really like a nice William Henry knife with damascus, mammoth ivory scales and sapphire gems...maybe some day... My grandpa got me hooked on knives. I use to hunt and fish with him when I was younger and he gave me a few knives to use. I didn't carry a knife much for a few years then got back into them about 5-6 yrs ago. It's a fun and interesting hobby but can get expensive quick if you're not careful.

Recently I've bought a benchmade mini onslaught 747BK (a bob Lum design) and I'm loving it!! That I plan to buy, some day is a Ray Layconico blast flipper in lighting strike CF or a Layconico custom "worker"......I first got interested in knives when I was looking at zippo tricks on youtube and I saw one of cutlerylovers vids where he showed his spyderco police.......cool idea for a thread bro!

Oh and in on page one:p

So who's going to blade show?

Thanks 9blades I'm always asking questions about specific things so I thought I'd change it up, :D and as far as blade show goes, I won't be making it to 2013 as I just have heard about it from your post. Although I have a feeling I'll be visiting different gatherings of fellow knife enthusiasts many times in the future. My fascination with knives stems from a need to stay busy constantly, my free time doesn't feel free unless I'm doing something. Maybe it's good or maybe it's not but, before knives I did collect coins and found them to be dull and boring.. Try to whittle a hair with an American eagle or silver bullion and you'll understand what I mean.

Edit: Oh and this is my first Bob Lum designed knife, so I am eager to check out the blade.

Hmmm.. I could talk about knives for hours! Lol.
Most recent... I just got a Strider SNG Z-Wear Lego from a trade today.
I have a thing for Spyderco knives too... though the amount I have has dwindled down lately.
It's worth it though because I have my favorite Spyderco and my Boker Albatros, Large Sebenza, Galyean Pro Series Small JYD, and now the Strider lol.
I do have a few I want to get to new homes though.

I really love the shape of the blade/handle on the UKPK. It's a very well balanced knife and fits very comfortably and securely in ones hand.

I got a chowke im sending it to tuffthumbz to pimp if going to get the Ti anodized and a whole bunch of scales bladechick777;) in the future i really want a boker albatros I also have a strider with a orange scale and a flame ti locking side which im really liking got it in the z wear which is pretty good steel so far if they make them in 3v i want one ukpk isnt for me i have had them three times i just didnt end up liking the design I am also wanting to get a g10 dragon fly 2 if any one has one pm other than that im good i have some trades coming in will be getting a busse sar3,Hest fixed blade and a kershaw rouge im loving my martin small tejas i didnt even know i had it it i was going to buy one when i found it it really is a amazing small edc really love the design thats all for know best regards ~Q

I got a mini grip, then a week later I ordered a bone collector lockback, then one day later I ordered a crkt swindle, and now I'm deciding what I want to order for my birthday knife later this month. I don't give myself time to love the new knives enough...but at least I give them friends :)

They never made a SNG with Orange/Flamed Ti and in Z-Wear steel.
My Albatros isn't going anywhere any time soon.
Chances are it never will go anywhere.
I love this little beast of a knife.

I have a knife on its way to me that I've wanted for about ten years! A Boye Basic 3. I just decided to browse Francine's selection the other day and she had a new plain Basic 3 440C Dendritic with a really nice thinner looking full flat grind for $245! She said it was her last one and the next batch was going up in price... Either way its the cheapest I've ever seen one. I couldn't pass on it. Kinda interesting, the knives are now made with David Boye's casts and hand ground in CA by custom Knifemaker J.P. Holmes then sent for HT to TX to a 30 year vet. knifemaker who's name is escaping me... Initials "DH". ...Then back to JP Holmes for finishing then to Francine for etching, back to JP for polishing and sharpening. Or at least thats what i thought Francine was saying. The markings on the blade seem only to be Francine's signature with the "DH" under it etched into the blade. She also had a couple of gorgeous CF scaled Basics but they were Cobalt. I told her I was after a backpacking/camp knife mostly and she highly recommended the Dendritic 440C over the Cobalt for my uses... Med woodwork, slicing the occasional tin can, ect. We had a really nice ~10min conversation. I'm not too stoked on the looks of the brass lined fabric sheath, but who knows! I may attempt to make my first leather sheath or may send it off to a kydex bender. Looking forward to it!

I recently got a Spyderco Lum Chinese too. I got the small one with zdp-189. Looking at pictures I liked it a lot, but once I got it realized it's smaller than I expected. I think I'm just gonna trade it sometime down the road.

Recently though, I got a Spyderco Gayle Bradley. That's a knife I will likely never get rid of. The size is perfect for me to EDC, I like the carbon fiber look, and I like that it has the Texas outline stamped on the blade. As a bonus it came (from the previous owner) with an STR lowrider clip! The only downside is that right next to the Texas stamp it says Taiwan. I'm one of those people that don't care at all where the knife is made, I just think stamping Taiwan next to the Texas outline doesn't go too well.

I could talk about knives literally for hours lol.

Topcatpt awesome to see another member who has a Pretium Pre-Ordered.

I'm #4 on the list and cannot wait to get mine!!!

Elliot does some truly amazing work and the minute I saw the Pretium I instantly ordered mine.

Yea his work is badass. I'm no 8 and I'm stoked about getting it.

Most recently the lovely and wonderful Girlfriend bought me a Benchmade Bedlam because she heard me whining that they were being discontinued. Smoothest Axis lock I've ever owned. Right now I'm eyeing the new(ish) CRKT Onion Skinner. Looks like a real sleeper with K110 at just over $40. The only knock on it I've heard is the looks and, perhaps weirdly, it made me realize that a knife that looks a bit like a toad kinda appeals to me.

I just got my Inron MY803 yesterday. Nice knife for $15, decent F&F, locks up solid. It is heavily inspired by the Hinderer XM-18, although not an outright copy. I never really liked Hinderer's work that much, but my opinion is starting to change. This ain't gonna end well for my bank account :p

I'm waiting on Amazon to ship my Glock Feldmesser 71, its been three days and no dice. This knife is going to be a bit of a project to get sharp, but that's ok. I bought it as a beater knife for work, hopefully it should do well in that role.
